Well, my only disagreement in that is that the attitudes of the marketing department need to change and the suits in charge need to step up. As long as there are religious, political and parent groups lobbying the gaming industry to avoid content they find 'distasteful', there will be censorship in games. Bioware is indeed making steps in the right direction, even if I don't agree with the implementation sometimes. What I object to is the apparent blame thrown at players for this censorship. We gamers have no power in saying what Bioware has or doesn't have in their games. The afore mentioned lobby groups do that whether we like it or not. The reason our opinions don't mean much, even when we whine on forums, is ht the company knows they've already got our money.
Yep, as I said above, lobby groups of various political and religious types or parent groups who are worried that their kids might *gasp* see a body part. lol
In any case, it occurrs to me that this is way off topic.
Well, let me state something that a fictional character stated once. And I do apologize, I'm gonna heavily paraphrase him here. "It is not that sex sells. It is the idea that sex could happen that sells." Donald Draper. If I'm remembering the episode correctly, he had the artists redraw an image of Mohawk Airlines with the stewardess with an eighth of an inch difference in her skirt length.
I'm not saying that it's not correct for it's time, like I said... We all had to start somewhere. And probably they were hamfisted, thinking that "Sex sells." When in reality, sex doesn't really sell anything. Porn included.
