I replayed MOTB a month or two ago (also stopped at the wizard academy for some reason) and I don't recall any respawning enemies, except maybe for one area. You can get ambushed when resting, though, so you can "summon" more enemies that way.

I also have the spirit recharger and the mod that prevents the bar from deplenishing when standing still.

Really wanted to try evil power hungry warlock build after that.
what are the bugs with the warlock which render him problematic in the unmodded vanilla?

None? The biggest warlock bug is probably the one that takes half its caster level when trying to bypass spell resistance, but that's not a problem if you just use Vitriolic Blast against spell-resistant enemies.

There are other small bugs here and there, warlock-related and otherwise, but nothing "problematic".

PS: I played evil in MOTB last time, and the available evil options were pretty chaotic stupid. If "evil for the lulz" doesn't cut it for you, you'll probably be disappointed.

I've tried finding that mod for stopping the spirit eater bar from moving during conversations, etc. I can't seem to get a hold of it. Anyone have a link?

Until you get Vitriolic blast, you'll find it difficult to attack targets with any kind of SR.

On the other hand, there are also some beneficial bugs which you can abuse in such way that make some battle irrelevant at best.
