Hello,

So it's no secret that a recurring theme in DAI's criticism are the PC controls and general gameplay. Atop that, warriors (my main class) are the hardest hit in terms of playability issues. I was just wondering what you guys do to alleviate any problems you also have, as I've found this game very tough to enjoy and know there's something I can do. Keybinds, Mods (especially), AI/tactic settings, and anything else are welcome. I particularly wanted to gather opinions on this if anyone uses it, which seems to make the Tacticrap camera vaguely useful by doing the apparently impossible for Bioware that is ZOOMING IT OUT A BIT.

I should also note that I really don't care about achievements or challenging myself (within reason) and since I simply switched from hard to medium and, per my Warrior note earlier, started running battles from one of my mage or rogue party members I've slowly started to have a lot more fun, though I know there's more I can be doing, as stated.

Thanks in advance.

What exactly is the trouble? I mean, there are so many ways the PC experience is bad with respect to key bindings and controls that you'll need to be a bit more specific. :)

One thing I did was rebind E to be the Interact key and put movement back on WASD. Every other PC game in the world (with a handful of exceptions that need to deal with a legacy fanbase) uses E for Interact and WASD for movement. My fingers are wired for that, so that was the first thing I changed. I dumped Camera Left/Right (bound them to arrow keys, which I never use).

That freed up Q for autorun toggle, which is also pretty standard for PC games.

Enabling mouse free-look was another thing I did, although I bound that to a key so that I can turn it on and off. For running or galloping from place to place, it's essential, unless you like the achy-breaky feeling of Carpal Tunnel. But for combat I prefer to stick with keyboard for direction and mouse for targeting.

I have a low-end Razer game mouse that has two programmable thumb buttons. I set the front one to 7 (quick bar ability slot) and the back one to 8, which is very handy for combat situations. I arranged for abilities 7 and 8 on each character to be the ones that require the most spamming, like Spirit Blade (well, before it was nerfed anyway), or quick reaction, like Fade Cloak, for KE. It's also handy to have Frost Step on a mouse button, so you can run circles around a mob or large boss.
