Can't trigger Josephine's 'Of Somewhat Fallen Fortune' quest

I found another thread about this problem but no answers or anyone saying that it would eventually happen.
So do I replay WPHW and the 4 hrs I've done since, catching the quest beforehand? Or just wait it out fingers crossed that it'll happen? I could just miss it out entirely so my question there is, is it important in the long run cause my Inquisitor is good friends with her.
Any advice, spoiler free if possible, would be appreciated ☺

Honestly, I would just power through and finish the game. You have an interesting opportunity to see what happens in Trespasser when you DON'T do Josie's personal quest. Make sure to come back and report it says in the Trespasser epilogue screens!
If you do a second play through, though, just make sure to talk to her some more.

As a general rule it is better to do companion/advisor quests before What Pride Hath Wrought, or at least started them. Some can actually have an effect on what happens there but with others I think it just may simply be that WPHW is a cut off point after which they will not trigger.

As a general rule, you HAVE to do companion/advisor quests before What Pride Hath Wrought, as you can't talk to your followers afterward. Also, if you're trying to get Bull and Dorian to hook up, you have to do that before WPHW, too.

She should have asked you to accompany her to Val Royeaux long before What Pride Has Wrought. I started that quest before Here Lies the Abyss, which is the first main quest I did, and then finished it before Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts for the extra romance dialogue.

I'm pretty sure she would have only I ran past thinking 'eh it's okay, I'll catch it later' doh.
I'll do that and see what happens, and try to remember to update this thread when I've got the epilogue!
I'll be playing at least 3 more times so I'll help her out then. This is the moment I thank the Gods of Bioware for the Keep, I can always switch tiles to pretend I did it
(assuming there's one for Josie)

Yeah, I just learnt that unfortunately
It's annoys me that it isn't hinted at in game, how the heck am I supposed to know that?? Another Bioware game where I'll finally hit the quests in the right order the second time round instead of the first (bringing back ME2 nightmares *shudder*)
So far I have triggered Cullen's lyrium issues after WPHW and a very steamy scene with Iron Bull. Can't for life of me get Blackwalls but I've been trying since HLTA for that. I'm assuming it's cause I banished the Wardens. I've tried to get every piece of approval from him I can but still nothing.
Thank you ![]()

Yeah I'm now finding that out. Bloody annoying tbh, a heads up would've been nice. I regularly go and chat with people but somehow I neglected poor Josie ![]()
I'm still chatting to them now though, after WPHW - Cullen had his whole lyrium thing, Leliana chatted about being Divine and my dwarf and Bull had some sexy times so there's still some things happening. Just not everything for some unknown mystical reason.
Lesson learnt, I'll make sure I trigger way more stuff before this point next playthru. Josie will have to wait till then I guess.

An update - finished the main game and Josie's quest never triggered. Just before The Final Piece, I got Blackwall's Revelations and Sera's cookies on the roof after squeezing out every little bit of approval from them both that I could get. No luck with Josephine though.

Josephine's epilogue in Trespasser without doing her personal quest -
'After easing the Inquisition's transition into the Chantry, Josephine returned to Antiva and her family. In a few years, her parents stepped down, and Josie became the official head of House Montilyet. She devoted her time to managing the estate's finances and navigating the social whirl of Antiva.'
Now that was my first playthrough so I'm not sure what it would say if I had done it. Nothing bad seems to have happened. I have a horrible feeling this may be the same epilogue you would have if you had indeed done her quest.....

You get a slightly different epilogue depending on how you resolve the quest, her way or Leliana's way. I've seen both but prefer the latter.

The epilogue screens in Trespasser state that the Montilyets were able to restore their fleet of you did her personal quest. Some pirates restart a feud with the Montilyets, and there's an off-handed mention of Yvette nearly running off with a dashing pirate.
Ah, good to know there is actually a difference. Although rather than 'just not mentioning it' it might have been cool for something bad to have happened if you didn't help her. Not that I want anything bad to happen to Ruffles, but still, drama and all that.
