So instead of cool scientific achievements, I'm reminded about US exceptionalism that ignores anything accomplished by non-Americans (also, how NASA was lightyears behind the eastern bloc re: equality).

Well after Gagarin, good on the eastern bloc for putting the first this, that, or the other in space while we put men on the moon.

People like to ignore that pesky moon business. Maybe it's still considered a hoax over there. Maker knows we got enough of those yahoos on this side of the world.

Pretty sure there's something about horses towards the end of that book. Just saying.

So now we get to be bearers of the apocalypse? lol

I was personally creeped out so much by that "tell me more about The Shepard" thing at the end of ME3. Like "Well, that's a cult world I won't be visiting."

All of you all who are thinking up names and characters -- I honestly would like Miranda Lawson to be the main character. She is intelligent, looks good, knows combat, and her attitude is priceless. Plus I would constantly get a view of her butt while running.

Screw character creation if Miranda returns. I would just play around with her every play-through.

Basically the same excuse as Russia uses.

"They leaked our documents we didn't want anyone to see."

Except that's compltely untrue. Being detained for illegally leaking classified documents is not the same as murdering an entire family for the crime of their relative dying a space-related experiment/excursion. If you think it is there's something wrong with your brain.

Either its all ok or none of it is.

Stealing $1 is the same as stealing $1,000,000.

You don't measure morality.

I just see no difference between imprisoning Manning and imprisoning a soviet whistle blower.

Nor do I see a diff between soviet executions and the Rosenbergs or Tokyo Rose.

The only actual diff is the ideology it was done in the name of.

...and if that's indeed a reference to Sally Ride, then that is actually kind of fail in my book.

Why? Well, Alan Shepard (supposedly who Shep is named after) was behind Juri Gagarin by less then 2 months. Fine, I'll call that a draw.

On the other hand, Valentina Tereshkova beat Sally Ride by almost exactly 20 years, following only 2 years behind Gagarin.

So instead of cool scientific achievements, I'm reminded about US exceptionalism that ignores anything accomplished by non-Americans (also, how NASA was lightyears behind the eastern bloc re: equality).

To be fair, the early superiority of the Soviet space program was solely attributable to Sergei Korolev. When he died in 1966, the ambitions of the Soviet space program died with him.

Ah yes, moon business.

Reminds me of my visit to the Peenemünde Rocket Base, where this very distressed American lady asked the guide "but but but what did our Wernher von Braun have to do with all of this??"

Of course, Bioware is a Canadian company.

Just saying...

Owned by an American company and catering to an American audience, but yeah. :)

Well at least this one doesn't sound like it has a Biblical meaning

Pretty sure there's something about horses towards the end of that book. Just saying.

Not to mention Noah's Ark. Maybe the Milky way was 'flooded' with reapers so we had to leave.

Sally Ride was the first American woman AND first LGBT astronaut, though. So there.

Also, since someone has to say it, GAY AGENDA!

And so closeted that nobody knew until after her death. Gotta wonder if she had ever flown if she had told people.

Well, it's not BioWare's fault that their names suck at being catchy. I mean, do I really expect NPC's to say Tereshkova multiple times? Heck nah.

Well, it doesn't have to be identical to be a reference (Ryder isn't either). I'm sure there's a clever wordplay in there somewhere that'll fit the syllable budget.

Hmm, has there ever been an openly lgbt astronaut? Cursory googling came up empty, but that might not be surprising if it was someone rather obscure visiting the ISN.

Who said anything about Soviet whistleblowers? Ignoring the fact that Bradley Manning is NOT a whistleblower, you're arguing against something no one ever said with an ideology that couldn't be any dumber. All things are not equal. Executing families that committed no crimes is not the same as imprisoning someone for jeopardizing national security. Stealing $1 is not the same as stealing $1,000,000.

Chelsea Manning. And this is getting increasingly off topic.

why not call the protagonist Von Braun? He's only the greatest rocket scientist of all times

And a member of the NSDAP and the guy that developed the V2 - let's not name anything at all after him.

Please, you believe in that? I know that Chem trails reduce a persons will and makes them more susceptible to propaganda from the oligarchy controlled government but that people can believe a farce that poorly executed stretches credulity.
