Destroy, no.  Different setting, yes.

 

That would be destroying it. A lot of the allure of DA is the mundane, religious, national, and political. Not the mystical. Making it even more mystical will destroy even how regular people live..down to how they eat, ****, and breath. Let alone the main shakers/movers of plots. And a bad part of this game is it had great opportunity to delve into the politics better..To write religion and politics as they actually are. But they already went overboard in making a high fantasy story instead.
