The option to become a cyborg or otherwise get cool enhancements would actually be very interesting.

Trans-humanism is an interesting topic, and modifying your character into badassness is always fun.

I would like to see that as well, but only if it can be handed properly, and by handled properly I mean don't make our cyborg character out to be some messianic figure or "the next step of human evolution", etc. I would prefer that treatment of how far our character wants to pursue transhumanism be left up to individual roleplaying, and that the narrative steers clear of being preachy about the subject one way or the other.

Also, if we're going to replacing our limbs and organs with machine counter parts, I want the option to go with a full droid conversion; pretty much a brain in a jar in a robot body. Why limit myself to a human form when I can be anything? Though I will admit that Mass Effect probably isn't the best series for elements and mechanics such as this; I do hope that Cyberpunk 2077 will live up to this concept though.

As for my own personal wishes, I know that having humanity, and human-like aliens front and center is kinda BioWare's thing, but I would like to see a universe were we, and our familiar concepts, are just a small part of a larger whole. I mean if you are only going to focus on humans and rubber-foreheaded humans, then why even have alien races in the first place?

Likewise, I would like to see less focus on trending social issues and more importance placed on exploration and the unknown. I would like to think that when astronauts first touched down on the moon, and broadcast "That's one small step for mankind." to the whole world that the LGBT plight, or the actions of abusive/absent parents was the last thing on anyone's mind. We should be out there shining light on the 'alien' nature of the universe, exploring and interacting with that alien species that has intelligence but not consciousness, rather than talking about how our daddy didn't hug us enough as a child, or who we find sexually attractive (IMO).

Lot of missed oppertunities, in my opinion, both in terms of story but also in terms of roleplaying.

I agree. Mass Effect 2 spends the entire intro explaining how Shepard was practically rebuilt with bleeding edge technology, but then completely ignores that fact as soon as you enter the Normandy II.

It was funny how all of this integration with technology was also only available for Shepard as well:

Since the focus will be on exploring, some survival elements would be cool. Something that makes space and unexplored planets appear as dangerous environments. ME1 had a few elements like toxic atmosperes or thresher maws that appear out of nowhere while you're driving around in your mako. Hopefully they can give us more. I was thinking maybe limited oxygen supply in space and on dead planets, natural traps like quicksand, storms and other weather extremes and more aggressive fauna on garden worlds. It would also be nice if every garden world had its unique flora and fauna, and we wouldn't see thresher maws and pyjacks on every planet.
Another thing I'd hope for is the ability to play "stealth", I just love stealth gameplay.

Hell they can make ME:A better than Fallout 4 with your idea.

I want a really good multiplayer game mode more than anything.

Like Battlefield or Call of Duty. And introduce co-op as well

A completely new story and not a reboot of the Original Trilogy (hear me, JJ Abrams?).

I hope to God not. They should have a new story of wild exotic adventures and exploring instead of just centering of playing heroics all the time. Make it fun to play another galaxy, not a chore like what they screwed the pooch on DA: Inquisition.

A complicated villain.

A protagonist who occasionally fucks up and actually needs his friends instead of an unstoppable messiah.

More ways to customize the game.

More use for the interrupt system.

An influence system.

Some kind of fun card game played in the Andromeda galaxy.

A more interesting melee combat.

Truly alien looking places.

A new Kasumi

Endings that feal different and are based on everything you did.

A pet.

Some feature nobody expected that will have a big impact on future video games.

Achievements.

How is fade to black not tasteful. It's probably the most tasteful option.

Not sure if this has been mentioned in the 10 pages before this post but I would really, Really, REALLY like a character generator/importer like what was done in Dragon Age Origins...or at least a way to import face codes.

The fact that I wanted to play the same character in different world-states of that other BioWare game **coughcoughDragonAgeInquisitioncoughcough** truly drove me nuts since I had to attempt to replicate the same look over and over again for my Inquisitor - a daunting task due to the complexities of the face creator.

Here's hoping that this is on BioWare's list!

The reason why fade to black should cease to exist in sex scenes is that they move WAY too fast to get to the smoochy-talky part, and make sex scenes corny and unrealistic.

Agreed.  So long as we're all agreed that this game isn't for the ickle kiddies, I would like there to be more to romance than the kiss, the fondle, and the turn-out-the-lights-before-the-zipper-falls.

Fade to black makes sex scenes tawdry and one-dimensional. Showing what two people go through during their first few fledgling encounters is far more enlightening than breakfast-in-bed or fully-clothed wake-up-together scenes.  Sex is an awkward, vulnerable, hilarious thing, and seeing how characters laugh their way through it or stiff upper lip an encounter (stiff-upper-lip is an excellent technique, btw) is more emotionally rewarding than, "Golly gee, I sure guess some fluids were exchanged, I tell you what.  How about we get some breakfast and never mention this happened to anyone ever until the sequel comes out?"

I'm not asking for Cinemax softcore - foreplay and afterglow from the neck up is really all that's required - but I am asking that we not pretend the first few couplings in a real relationship are so porno-vacuous that they can be skipped over without feeling we've ignored an important conversation with a loved one.

I like that in the DA games and other RPGs you can cycle between characters you control in the field. In ME you can only shoot as Shepard which means you have to replay the game several times to experience different classes and powers. I would have loved to play as Liara or Garrus in the field.

I personally love to see sex scenes realistic (and sexually arousing) and it doesn't have to be XXX or nothing like that. They should have a NC-17 style sex scenes to approach a mature audience like Witcher does.

I'll never understand people that judges the quality of something based on numbers. I just don't.

Off the top of my head

Destiny sold 20-30 million copies 1st month(?)

Anyway i remember half the number of people who's bought it had stopped playing it by the time that number came out, of the remaining players most were once a week players. ME was a better game by far and was nowhere near close to selling 20-30 million and I dare say the MP has maintained a much more active fanbase.

But people see numbers assume popularity and end up with desticular cancer.

Sure but the Bethesda games have repeated numbers so that is a fairly good indicator of popularity and quality. Sure it's possible large swaths of people keep buying a game style they hate but it's unlikely. One offs aren't a great indicator as the first week before word of mouth gets around is where the biggest sales are.

So fallout 4s sales might not be s good indicator for determining if the changes made from 3 to 4 were good. But fallout 5 or elder scrolls 6 sales might be influenced by it. And the general overall sales of Bethesda games is a indicator that people like their general game style.

Unless you're worried about business practices in which case it is a serious issue.
