My MEA wishlist.

Do not look to DAI/FO4 for inspiration.

Improve and expand upon ME3 combat gameplay.

Maintain connection to the story throughout.

Make exploration/Mako largely optional.

Create meaningful side quests that involve cutscenes.

Have an epic finale that uses all your companions.

Everything that MET. does good MEA do it a lot better, remove the useless stuff, annoying things and every plot deserve a closure.
Fluid combat system even tough i still wan't to feel like i play with an RPG.

If Witcher can do it ME:A can do it too.

Strip out all the gameplay 'innovations' from ME2 and 3 and give us back a real RPG.

A survival scenario (not a suicide mission). Perhaps this has been done before. I haven’t completed the Trilogy yet.

I’d like to see an assignment where the protagonist and crew must survive by finding food, water and fuel necessary for their survival. They have to survive the night – and it’s a long night indeed. If the protagonist cannot find the necessary resources (by hunting around the area, protecting what they do have, stealing from aliens, etc), then they all die; maybe 1 recruited squadmate dies. They discover a powerful alien weapon that you cannot otherwise obtain in-game. This could even be an assignment for only the protagonist and their L.I. hmmmm….

Possible Scenario:

When the Mako is landing on a planet, something goes wrong and they land in the wrong place. The Mako is partially damaged and serves as a temporary shelter until rescue.  The area has a mineral field that requires a close fly-by in order for them to be detected and for the comms to work. While the  mother ship is searching for the missing crew:

1) The troopers have to defend themselves and their limited food and water supplies so that it is not stolen by indigenous life-forms/aliens.

2) Raid an alien depot, while under fire, for necessary resources;

3) Avoid falling into quicksand or being eaten alive (an automatic mission failure).

If they run out of food and water within a time limit, our troopers die (fade to black).

The mission can be re-played as needed.

The squadmates could chat around their campfire discussing anecdotes of their experiences and personal background, while eating rations (s’mores included!).   Perhaps a nice chance for the two L.I.’s to have more relationship bonding time, fighting side-by-side, etc.

If the troopers survive their ordeal, then a rescue ship lands near their location to pick them up.

I would like to see another base defense done somewhat like was seen in XCOM and NWN1: HOTU.

I wouldn't mind seeing base management similar to XCOM as well, especially the Scientist and Engineer mechanic from XCOM 2.

Have a group of NPCs that the player can allocate to different areas of their base, or send off to help establish colonies, that provide specific benefits for certain tasks. It would be even cooler, if unused companions could be used in something like this as well. While Ryder and Co. are out securing the frontier, you could assign your Krogan companion to help train the local colonists in combat tactics, providing a boost to the colony's defense against Khet raids, for example. This way you can help build immersion into the game, rather than just having these characters sit back at base doing nothing, as well making unselected companions still feel like they're contributing to the player's progress.

My wishlist:
-Crafting system akin to Fallout 4 (but less tiresome getting the materials). Or at least gun/armor customization similar to ME1/3.
-More RPG elements, less RPG lite. Really let us customize our builds and acknowledge our class and skill set.
-Reputation precedes you as opposed to always being a hero (or hailed as a hero) no matter what you do. If you do some messed up things I'd like there to be actual consequences (same if you're 'too good').
-Human male squadmate not relegated to being a wangst-er with trust issues. Not as concerned ethnicity wise but good looking always a plus.
-Human female squadmate not another ice queen/'I'm too strong' but secretly a broken bird with insecurity issues. Blonde bombshell or WoC strongly preferred.
-Squad size comparable to ME 1/3. Less but deeper ties to story and potential paths.
-More squad diversity. One male and female human, one male and female alien space hunk/babe, and at least 1 male AND female weird'/very nonhuman characters. Wouldn't care to see most of the male squad be various cool races and the females relegated to several different humans.
-^That said, equal male/female squaddie ratio. Or at least 60/40 balance.
-At least two male and female options for each preference (m/f, f/m, m/m, f/f). I liked the DA2 route where it was at least one male and female human and nonhuman, all available for any player.
-Tech and biotic PCs get more acknowledgment (conversation options/interrupts) rather than simply be in combat.
-More armor variety, some bulky armor, some sleek and ninja like, hoods for stealth/biotics a plus
-More RPG tactics like in ME1 where it was ideal to bring a tank, a tech (for unlocking/hacking) and a biotic (for crowd control). Being able to build squadmates to fit the role would be great.
-Decisions that matter. Including hard ones. Virmire a prime example.
-Cornrows, dreads, spiky hair (esp for females), more diversity in hair options (look to DAI for what not to do). Long hair (for both genders) a plus, even if its in a bun or ponytail.
-More diplomacy/non violent missions like in ME1
-Absence of auto dialogue and DAI/ME3 style fetch quests (esp material gathering).
-Option to join different factions with some closing off depending on your class, reputation or even affiliation with rival groups.
-Different underarmor/casual wear options.
-Branching story paths, or at least divergent side quests.
-Bright light or lighting toggle in CC.
-No prolonged intros before CC (*side eyes ME2 and the Saints Row series*).
-And lastly, ridiculous as it may sound, 2 voice options per gender like they did with DAI.

*Demanding it may be but it is a WISH-list after all. Still look forward to MEA regardless.

This is what I would like:

1. I would first and foremost like a continuation of the things that make Mass Effect so great to begin with (i.e great characters, excellent storytelling, fun combat, choices & consequences, moments of both victory and defeat, awesome universe with multiple species and deep lore).

2. Exploration & discovery. Multiple large areas to explore that represent various worlds - some that involve the main quest, but some that are strictly exploration and side quest material (like in ME1, but much better).

3. Meaningful negotiation and diplomacy - trading favors, competition, making friends, making enemies, discovering new species & etc.

4. A sense of world building.  If you find a place to colonize, I would like to see the results of colonization. We are after all trying to get a foothold in a new galaxy (I assume).

5. An epicly awesome & large main ship - Ark or whatever you want to call it.  I'm talking like something that feels like a city in space (think Novigrad from TW3 and Citadel from ME1 mixed together but more enclosed because it is a space ship).

6. A secondary ship that is really the pathfinder's ship. The Ark shouldn't be the PCs home, just an awesome place to resupply, relax, and etc.

7. At least 15-20 main missions.  Please a more dense main plot than was offered up in DA:I.  Branching stories would be great, but aren't required.  Again something like ME1 where some main missions can be done in varying order would be awesome.

8. More variety in combat for the various classes, and variety within classes with more abilities than a player can use at one time.

9. More customization of spaces, items, outfits, and etc.

10. A sense that more is going on than just what the PC is doing.  I would like the main character to be a part of something, not the center of something.  No more saviors of the galaxy/continent.  Just a guy or gal who is one part of a larger venture, and ends up involved in a great story.

11. A relatable and worthy antagonist.

12. Next gen visuals. Great soundtrack. The Vigil Theme from ME1.  That song is required if it is to be Mass Effect.

13. Something similar to DA:Keep that reflects some of the choices in the prior games (Save the Council or not, whether some side characters were helped or not, Genophage, Quarians/Geth and so on). The final choice doesn't have to be included.

14. A wartable like feature that allows us to send groups of squad mates off on other missions - but not timed missions, let it be they're gone till the next time you complete a mission/assignment and return to the ship/base/whatever.

An empath - I know, it's a cliche.  ST-OS    ST: TNG

The character can tell me when an alien is lying to me, is withholding critical info, deceiving me, etc.

After all, we will be dealing with aliens that we have no history with.

I want ME:A to be space exploration dream come true game. Where you visit distant planets, see mind blowing alien spectacles, meet new species, learn new tecnhologies some of which are believable and some look like magic. I want it to be completely open world where you choose where to explore and how to play the game. I want to uncover mysteries of extinct civilizations. Visit a pirate bar on space station. Basically everything that great space operas have fueled by amazing story, characters and dynamic combat.

What I _don't_ want ME:A to be is grindy bland offline MMO with time sink crap that was added just to prolongue gametime.

That's exactly what I want for ME:A to be like too. An adventure instead of a ego driven hero human centric story.

Gianna Parasini.  She was absent from ME3 so I can only assume she somehow got involved with the ARK project.  This would be a cool connection to the original series.  In context would be a plausible way to have someone from the original trilogy in Andromeda.

Also it would be nice if they addressed the Quarians from the books that went on the deep space expedition.

- Quarians. Male and female to romance
- Cerberus
- Phantom-type sword to use
- More East Asians. Male and female to romance
- An awesome character creator with various presets that we can edit
- Less auto dialogue
- A small side quest about a derelict Reaper in Andromeda (must not be related to the main plot)
- The option to be pure evil and to have those around us change depending on our choices. We need a planet for some reason, but it has natives, do you relocate, negotiate, or exterminate for example
- Nudity if appropriate. I don't want nudes for the sake of nudes, but I don't want clothes or bikini in the shower
- A Russian cook
- Various missions in space instead of on a planet
- First game in a trilogy

That's all I got for now.

How about a tech tree.

Oh, nothing elaborate as in, say, the new MOO game launching on Steam Feb 26.  But, just enough, to make things interesting. Remnant Tech, for example, should go towards Colony enhancements, Military, improving AI agents and/or mining outposts.. etc... Decisions that can make or break your colony expansion programme.

-A character creator mode for MP that will show us what it will be like if Bioware gave us race selection in SP but actually having race selection in MP.

-A co-op campaign, separate from main game, that we can play with friends because two stories are better than one :D

I posted this in the Hazardous Planets thread, and felt it is appropriate here as well.

I'd like to see in Andromeda scenes with ideas like these:

1.    A field of quicksand or land mines that the protag must find a way through or around. The protag would also have to direct the squadmates to go through the hazard field too, and if they are not moved to different areas correctly, squadmates could be hit by the hazard, die, and you'd have to reload the game until you get it right (or let the squadmate die (a la Virmire, anyone?)).

2.    An earthquake rumble suddenly occurs and the Protag has only 3-4 seconds to run-leap across the developing surface cracks to continue the mission on the other side of the rift. On the far side is a rare upgrade that can only be obtained in-game by making this leap.  If he/she doesn't react fast enough, the protag will have to go around another path and fight a boss-like fight, and the rare upgrade is no longer available (it fell into the crevasse).

3.    The protag must follow hard-to-find tracks left behind by an alien or synthetic, just as a scout or tracker would have to do. Along the way they would have to avoid hazards.

4.    A SERE mission: Surveillance, Evade, Resistance/capture, Escape. Completing this mission without being detected gains key intel. The purpose of this mission is to gain the critical intel, not to defeat a boss enemy. If you are captured, then you do not get the intel and this causes a change in the game - you'd have to complete 1 or 2 different assignments to get that intel before you can proceed with the game.

More challenging and diverse enemies like in ME1. Mass Effect 2 was just mercenaries, mercenaries, oh and, mercenaries. Mass Effect 3 did fine, too much bullet sponges though.

Bring back the enemies who can overheat your weapons, overload your shields and ragdoll you with biotics.
