Just think - if it has thrusters that allow you to hover for awhile (instead of a quick jump) and can go underwater - well, that would be perfect, imho.

Please dont put no mother f***ing sharks! Just please don't put no MOTHERF***ING sharks!! "Deep Blue Sea!! They ate me!! A ****** shark ate me!! Drink ******!! "

I wouldn't mind Space Vikings, a distant race of Andromeda humans pillaging the star systems of aliens until they met the Alliance fleet, which became a rival to them.

Hey that can be a name of a pirate organization based on the Vikings! They can can set it up like a faction to join them for plundering ships, riches, thrilling adventures, betrayal and debauchery! Dude that will be a good idea and thank you for mentioned it, after all you get the credit for it.

Haven't gone through the whole of this thread, so I don't know if what I'm going to say has been touched on, but here's what I'd like to see:

better customisation items:

More hair, as the 50 shades of skinhead from DA:I was just annoying, perhaps even long hair, for both males & females

Full beard option

tatoo's, both facial & body

scars, both facial & body

Squad options:

Customisable armour like in DA:I yes everyone had their own style, but you could swap bits out to change the look & stats, as well as change the colour.

Better AI, with how basic is was in ME3 it was more annoying than helpful, I lost count of how many times I would tell a squadmate to use a specific weapon or power, only for them to decide not to, this leads me onto my next point.

Choice of behaviour, the choice to set your squadmates to assault or support, that way a sniper character set to 'support' would hang back & use their rifle, maybe even choose whether they focus on strong or weak opponents, thus allowing you to take a more strategic approach to combat.

Conversations:

Like in DA, give us some form of emoticon for our dialog choices so we can have a clearer understanding of whether we're about to make a joke or drop out a flirtatious like

randomise the location of the paragon/renegade lines, as it's too easy just to say, 'I'll say the top line everytime.'

Weapons:

More customisation options, parts, colours, things like that

location sensitive hit boxes, ok so we have headshots, but aside from that, it's easy enough to kill a guy by shooting him in the big toe, bleh.

Powers:

Once again, ripping off DA:I here, but have certain locations on maps that require certain powers in order to bypass?

Mako:

It plays music while exploring with the option to choose tracks.

Ok, that's all I can think of, some might make more sense than others, still, it's just my thoughts.

But if Vikings meet an organized force they just run away! They can't do against properly organized states... but maybe they could form a army division in the Alliance?

I think they should be on the pirate side for you know adventurous events on Andromeda but who knows? Maybe they can be both some kind of way.

Not really. I'm talking about fleet vs. fleet, not small raiding party against one another and it's quite the opposite. The Vikings were well organized and successfully settled parts of Russia, Brittania, Germania, and even the warm Mediterranean. Settled, not raiding mind you. After the Norman's conquest of England, Byzantium's Varangian guards consisted of Scandinavian and Kievan Rus’ warriors.

-Join factions like the mercenaries, pirates, military, etc.

I'm sure one of humanity's best N7 operatives would be allowed and would wish to join a space pirate faction. This won't be a game where you choose if you want to be a good or bad guy. You are a scout thats participating in the exploration of another galaxy period.

I think you really like Ghost Recon and thats fine i also enjoy it and i think its a great game but you are giving a vibe that you want another Ghost Recon game in space under the name Mass Effect: Andromeda.

I like this a lot, looks badass but would prefer space Samurai.

That fight like N7 Slayers.

It's nothing wrong with adding up new factions and the character should have different back stories instead of being N7 all the time, I think they should make the main protagonist's more flexible to let the players choose his/her story, choice of good, evil, right and wrong. Oh the factions I will go over that on my next topic as well as technology, classes, and character in a little bit. Stay tuned!

It certainly is a very interesting idea that BioWare should consider, i'm not saying its a bad idea but its not for Mass Effect. Plus i dont think it would fit the theme so to say. In Andromeda you are in a another galaxy where everything would be hostile and there would be no way of communicating with the natives. And i'm not really sure they would happily accept a aliens species to serve on their ship, and i'm certain that there are no Asari, Krogan, Turian pirates in another galaxy.

Hey it might be! Like in Terminus Systems they have pirates and mercenaries, it might be the same thing on the next game. So why not join them instead of fighting them? That way you introduce players to have an experience of being a pirate or a merc, have storylines of each faction other than doing missions (which it will be the fun part.) to make things interesting. Oh btw I'm not saying that ME:A should be like Ghost Recon, I put them as examples of different ideas of combat and tactical shooting elements.

Why do they have to change? Going open world on DA:I did not accomplish anything, except tick people off, have people giving it a horrible metacritic user rating and people not buying it.

Witcher 3 did not sell many times more than Mass Effect games, in fact it probably sold less than some. Add to that? Bioware/EA probably cleared way more money with DLC.

Skyrim? Skyrim sold so many copies for one reason (and same will be true with Fallout 4 after the initial push). Modding. You cannot mod the Frostbite engine yet, we do not even have tools from Johan to do it. Those games are basically a sandbox for modders. Why do you think Bethesda is trying to get the PC mods playable on consoles for Fallout 4? Because THAT is the draw of the game.

THAT is why those games sell so much and Skyrim's PC Sales blew away console sales, all due to modding. Skyrim and Fallout is the only "open world RPG" that sells like crazy.

I have never once heard someone praise Skyrim's story as mind blowing, and the characters as mindblowing. That is the entire draw of Mass Effect. If EA/Bioware does a bait and switch on this franchise? People are not going to be happy. They will be even more angry than they were with DA:I. DA:I has D & D roots where some players were willing to go grind on pointless mobs (and they are used to doing it in MMO's). Mass Effect was a fast paced shooter/story driven game. The fan bases are not the same. You can like both series, but that does not mean everyone who played and loved ME did.

Dude it has nothing to do with sales, I'm simply saying that they do need to change their way making games, because they putting the same style of creating games in every game they make. It's getting more to the point where it is boring and very dissapointing, you don't have to take my word for it, click the link to see it for yourself.

Follow DAI's lead on conversations, but go farther by scrapping cinematic dialogue entirely. It was a nice experiment, but it's time for that experiment to end. Cinematic dialogue has diminished every BioWare game in which it has appeared (from KotOR on).

A blank slate protagonist. Let us define the backstory and personality as much as possible. Don't define motives for us at all.

Hide the story. Don't hand us a clear objective and expect us to follow where you point without question. Instead, just drop us in the world and let us do what we like.

Expand on ME's RPG combat by letting us scope and trigger weapons while paused. We can already trigger abilities while paused; keeping weapons separate adds nothing to the game.

Let us move the camera independently from character movement. I shouldn't have to point the camera forward in order to move forward.

And no context-sensitive controls.

The fatigue system in ME3 was very clever. Expand on that by having all inventory, including armour, count toward it.

Whatever the DAI team did to make the paraphrases more informative - do that.

Separate dialogue selections from quest options. Don't lock the character into following what he said just because he said it.

Recreational drug usage would be a cool little mechanic to introduce, hell make as simple as going to the on board commissary and buying a pack of cigarettes or to the officer's mess for a beer.

Seriously little tiny details like this make people actually seem real, it doesn't need to strictly about snorting a line of red sand as much as the wider implication that this is a living human being with habits that exist outside of what the character does, give them something, a vice, a nervous habit. Something, Let me tell you after almost nine years in the army? I met plenty of smokers.

Uh, Actually I have no idea what the official policy regulations within the Zeonic Military are given that such things were never covered, although you do see Zeonic Officers drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco so I guess such things aren't frowned upon while not on active duty...I have no damn clue.

tone down the combat abilities a bit, not the powers and what not, but make the character feel less like a goddamn Spartan or something.

AFAIK N7 and the like aren't really super soldiers, just the highest tier of special forces so giving them the ability to sprint infinitely and such kind of pulls be back from it.  Also combat was way too easy in 3.
