So I'm on Omega, and the bartender poisons me. And yet my two companions, hardened members of Cerberus, just throw me in a back alley? Or was it the abrtender who put me there? Either way, why would my companions just stand around and watch?
This is just a small thing, but I am starting to get scared for my enjoyment of the game. So far the interactions have been subpar, im getting dialogue actions fo rthings Shepard shouldn't even really know before asking etc.
It just feels like the story is so artificial and nowhere near as "realistic" or "life-like" as it should be. I use both words to prevent people from going "of course its not realistic its a game!". I'm just saying, an rpg, or even shooters nowadays, usually try to emulate reasonable social interaction, reasonable character responses based on personality, and reasonable story progression.
I really hope I am just overreacitng and the rest of the game won't have this same feel.

Or perhaps when I get to Ken's salvage shop, I demand he lower his prices. And what happens? He says "oh ok, here you go".
I'm losing hope that the interactions are going to get any better...

on the topic of the interractions, yeah they're a bit odd. I did that mission on Omega, where you talk to the quarian merchant, and he mentions that there's another merchant who's forcing him out of buisness. I'm a paragon, so of course I went to his aid, and went to talk to the other merchant. So what is my paragon/persuade option to resolve the issue? 'lower your prices or I'll break your legs'. .... that's hardly in character for my paragon shep, would hate to see what the intimidate/renegade option for that would have been..

He'd probably just go ahead and do it =S.
