Why don't you just join NM PUGs at level 1 like everyone else? Thanks for your bravery and willingness to contribute to the team OP.

I feel like if I do that I would be holding them back rather than being carried but if I can get someone to willingly do it and not basically force them then I feel better about it

Did you send me a message earlier? lol

Yup. This precisely. I have no objection towards people needing a little bit of help on NM but I would appreciate it if they don't just rush ahead and simply fade.
With respect, but I see a lot of lv20 "faders" as well on NM pugs. So really, level doesn't matter. I'm happy for them to stay in the lobby so long as they don't "fade rush" and at least don't spam "over here" for the entire duration of the match.

Definitely the right thing to do until you get stronger and received some top tier weapons. Don't feel bad about it.
Too bad I'm on PC otherwise I'm sure me and lots of my friends are very happy to help you out.

I was being facetious. What's he going to do with his Hakkon weapons once he has to go back to Routine/Threatening? I red-skull such players after the second knockdown. They inevitably end up in the Fade, making the enemies stronger, which often doesn't matter, but sometimes does make the difference between success and failure (e.g. when I'm level 1 in Perilous/NM and am the carry - happens often enough these days).
My opinion on this is: If a friend of yours is willing to carry you, fine, but please do not join a Perilous, Nightmare, or Heartbreaker PUG at any level without the appropriate stats to contribute to the team. Saarebas Barrier B*tch is the one possible exception to this rule, and you'd better also have Glyphs to share, and be putting the Ring of Asaaranda around your teammates as often as possible. Yes, that means move out of the font room and play with your team.

To some extent I agree with you, but also my gut feeling goes that some players might need to step out of their comfort zone and get used to the intensity of NM. And that might mean they need to adopt new strategies and change their build etc. I want to help because I know how painful it was when I first started grinding NM for the hakkons. I'm sure others who also needed several hundreds of NM to get all their hakkons must have felt the same way.
NM will always be tough until you completed a few HB games. And I guess HB would always be tough until you did a couple HB solo...
I totally agree that it would be best for one to be able to contribute. Support Saarebas is obviously the perfect example. In fact you could argue that just about any class would be helpful so long as you play as a support instead of competing for the kills as a dps. If you are lacking the gear / promotes then there is a good chance trying to be a dps won't go down too well.
A lot of the mages are excellent in providing support. For example, Ele's fire storm is great, Keeper has static cage and destruction field for the support and generates good support xp from barrier. AW generates good support xp from barrier and combos. Wink already mentioned the all mighty support saarebas but I would add anthlok burst is also good, maybe you don't do a lot of damage but you generate a lot of shatter combos and combos = support xp. Bard is slightly less effective without a good staff since Little Knight Musics and Mark of the Rift are tied to your staff's base damage. But you can still spam barrier and fast beats and battle of the band etc.
As of warriors, Lego is excellent for support xp and gives good survivability at the same time. You may not be able to tank all that well but you will get better at him as you obtain better gears and higher stats. I would shy away from 2-hand warriors until you get some decent gears and half decent promotions.
And for rogues, archer is great and you can leech off other players' crits, so long as you keep an eye out for things around you and be careful not to die. Don't spam long shot if you are under promoted because that will just get you killed. Leap shot + spike traps are simply awesome at any promotion / gear. Alchemist generates good support xp from flask of frost and shatter abilities, and elemental mines provide good support in just about any situation. Use stealth to get out of trouble if needs be. Silent Sister gives great survivability. If you can't hold the aggro and survive, then don't be the tank. If you stay alive at least you won't be a burden.

"half decent promotions."
Is that about 50/50/50? Should I focus on con first? I'm at 36/32/32
I guess I'll just join some NM pugs. I can hold my own as long as I'm not the leader. I got some really good gear for warrior and mage classes.
I'm really just grinding promotes and trying to get better daggers. I really like the dagger rogue class but I just don't do enough damage. I guess NM would be the best to get the xp boost.

I feel that Perilous is better for xp. NM takes longer and much easier to fail. I am over 50/50/50 and with the best daggers in the game and I have yet to successfully finish a NM PUG match. Tons of successful Perilous PUG matches. I only do NM with people I know or people who would carry me LOL. ![]()

Yup 50/50/50 is definitely enough. People did HB with 30/30/30 in Beta. All 3 stats are important at early stage since you need that added damage resistance. After the point where you feel you can survive most of the time focus more on cunning until you are happy with your crit chance.
