Ugh been doing like 5 attempts now, but it always ends in slaughter with everyone. How do I actually win without the big slaughter dance?

Something to know tho:

  • I did not support Anora.
  • I saved the noble dude and freed the slaves and gave the ring to that woman in the tavern.
  • I am noble female.
  • I did not do the Trails of Crows.
  • I picked "Blight is the real threat", "You let How torture your people", "You sent a blood mage to poison the Arl"
  • I also tried to reverse the order of above.
  • I also tried to Persuade to support Maric's son (have max coercion)
  • I never mentioned king Calien.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's very spoiler-y, but the DA Wiki has a pretty good explanation of the weighting of the different choices (in terms of dialogue used and quests done or not).

And... according to that page, winning without Anora apparently requires either the Crows quest or releasing Vaughan from the dungeon.

This is the optimal dialogue, assuming you completed tortured noble and the missing templar (should have a guy pipe up about surgeons, and the grand cleric comment). If you can't win with that you'll need to go back and get Anora's, Vaughan's, or the kinapped boy's father's support. Or else accept losing the landsmeet.

This is your problem.  TSM is right, check the wiki.  You have to 1) support Anora OR 2) do the trial of the crows quest line OR 3) free Vaughan.  You don't need all three but you need at least ONE of them to win as long as you make all the right choices in the dialogues.

Try freeing the tortured noble from Howe's dungeon. Then go talk to his father in the Gnawed Noble Tavern.

The more nobles you help, the more they'll support you in the Landsmeet.

You can tell Anora you'll support her claim to the throne and then just betray her in the Landsmeet.

Without Anora, or completing the Trial of Crows, you must argue the debate in the order you mentioned, but also release Vaughn from the dungeon on the condition that he supports you at the Landsmeet.

SInce Vaughn always dies on my playthroughs (he is just the worst - apart from Howe), I always do the Crow quests - they are not that bad, since most of your supposed victims leave you no choice, because they attack on side. So you can metagame, that you wanted to talk to them first, for finding out, if they deserve to die, but you had to defend yourself - not even morally strong characters like Wynne or Alistair have problems with those quests (and some of those targets have helped Loghain, so that's a plus). And the Crows don't accept any more contracts for your head after that.

I always mention the Slave trade in the Alienage - taht seems to shock quite a few people at the Landsmeet, ebcause obviously, treating elves like **** is ok, but selling them into slavery is not ;)

I just read the WIki about teh Landsmeet and it seems, that although, the noble boy in Howes torture chamber was tortured, his father will vote for you, when you bring up the slavery (only if you don't support Anora, otherwise you can use Howes torture as an argument, because Anora will back it up), so maybe try switching the torture argument with the slavery argument and do the Crow tasks

Had a look and got a better understanding of it, thanks.

Rather not get Anora's. Not sure which son you mean, the mental damaged one or? Vaughan I let rot in prison. I no longer have access to the dungeon in which they are in so yeah >.<

Done the above I think and yeah I know, just can't get enough it seems.

You can tell Anora you'll support her claim to the throne and then just betray her in the Landsmeet.

Looks like that is the only option I have left since I can't return to the prison. I wanted to win over her so she felt like no one cared about her, looks like I need to double-cross her instead.

Can't return to the prison :( so I have to double-cross Anora.

I told the dude to go away when he wanted me to do the Trails of the Crow so that's one is closed and I just found out I can't return to the prison either so yeah XD have to double-cross Anora instead.

I was so intimidated by Loghain my first play-thru.. I said all the wrong things and ended up fighting his guards and him in a brawl.. :D

But, now I always side with Anora, do the Crows quest, rescue the two guys in prison, kill Vaughn, give Alfstanna her brothers ring and talk to Bann whats'his'name about his son Oswyn. Even if I betray Anora later, she is on our side to start with :D

I did everything but support Anora and the Crows quest, and I had to fight Loghain and his supporters.

This was my second playthrough. In my first, the only thing I did differently was support Anora, and I won the Landsmeet. I didn't even know about the Crows quest either time.

I'll like to thank everyone who helped me with this issue. Sadly, I could no longer enter the prison so I had no choice but to pretend that I supported Anora and then double-cross her at the landmeets.

After finding out that mentioning to her, that you want to kill her father makes her turn on you anyway, I finally won the landsmeet :)

Funny, I’ve never lost the Landsmeet in any playthrough. Visiting that link was instructive; I was wondering if it was like the trial in Neverwinter Nights, where you get a special bonus if you win with all jurors on your side. But no,

Spoiler
Mystery solved!
