What Level Of Character Customization would You like For Andromeda?

I only worry about two things when it comes to Mass Effect Andromeda

 Character Creation

The ability to show change in a characters appearance based on story events

I have never played a fallout Game until FO4, and I didn't care for the others mainly because of graphics. I know people would have issues about that because a lot of people believe gameplay is what makes a game, not it's graphics.

But understand that to me, style and graphics mean everything to me. The other Fallout games just didn't have any style or graphics that peaked my interests.

The only reason I liked FO4 and played the living crap out of it was because of its Character creation.

To me Character creation, especially a well developed one like  EVE Online MMO and Black Desert MMO, is like the pinnacle of everything and all things good in games( in my opinion, excluding games like the Uncharted series and so on.)Through the gift of modding you could do so much more, and if the character creation is up to par you can do wonders.

Luckily Game developers are realizing the creation system in those two MMO's are the future when it comes to character creation. Why? because it allows you to adjust the smallest details on faces and bodies. Games that are now using this system includes the following:

FALLOUT 4 and the Latest SIMS Game.

In Fallout four you can make your character much more unique then you could ever in the mass effect Trilogy.( excluding mods)

DAI Definitely improved which made me so happy.

But what Makes Fallout4 more advanced than others besides the MMO's, is that if you have a pc you can perform character creation where ever and whenever you are in the game. So if in my case I was going on a secret mission against the Brotherhood( A faction you can join inn the game), I would change my hairstyle, add some trench warfare paint, radiation dust and  war tattoos to make the event see more dramatic. After I was done, I would take that all off and maybe put a new scar on my face to show that I actually got hurt.

If I can adjust the way my character looks throughout the game( not just armor and the mako) but like scars, hair length, eyeliner, beards, and tattoos. If their Character creation is more advanced if not the same as DAI then I will consider ME:A  more important than any game, even more important than Final Fantasy XV or Kingdom Hearts 3.

I'm sorry for this being long, If you have read ally the way up to this point thank you. I just believe this is an issue that hasn't really been discussed when it comes to this game.

What is your thoughts and what type of character creation would you like in  MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA.

Here are two links to EvE Online and Black Desert Character Creation basically explaining why these are the highest level of creation up to this point.

Black Desert:

Eve online:

If Andromeda could do anything like this, I could literally create me in the game!!

I don't know, really. I always went with the default Shepard because sooner or later I would screw up in the CC process anyway. It'd be cool if people that like CC can spend hours on end on it, but for me it's not really that much of a dealbreaker if it's not that expansive. If they include the HD GameFace feature from EA's NBA title, that'd be pretty cool IMO.

Bashing Fallout 4 graphics for all I care, what Fallout 4 offered that DA and ME never did were allowing us to create better ethnic characters, they even include preset for Asians so you can modify from. What I want is for them to take into account race so people can create characters that resemble them or people they want to play as. It's a very important aspect for role playing games.

A more extensive CC. It's 2016 for God's sake. Not 1996.

And EVE was released a whole 4 years BEFORE ME1.

They made some good steps forward in the CC department in DA:I but tbh it still wasnt enough, as previously stated when it comes to CC, an aesthetics in general, Bioware really does languish at the bottom of the league in all games i have played, damn even there body types etc in DA:I were damn amateurish

thats why at times I like SWTOR...  I can play a needle-looking Sith or a fat one or a skinny girl or a voluptuous one or a Brienne of Tarth... but there's some limitations. They reusing a lot of scenes and movements, limited camera angles.

It is a Bioware game and they can give us all this... but I'm not sure whether they're willing to risk it for MEA so I'm not crossing fingers for body types or expanded CC. They like to let modders do the work for them anyway.

This.

I do think having a more intuitive UI for the CC menus would be great. I think having all the various features from games like Dragon Age: Inquisition, Fallout 4, or Saints Row IV are great but making it so that players like me who aren't as good at CC or as into character customization as the hardcore crowd are would make for a better time and might give more players a chance to have more fun with the CC.

Machete approves of this thread!

Spoiler

Regarding EVE (which I've never played), I know it was rumored but maybe never confirmed(?) that the super detailed CC was prep for the now-cancelled WoD MMO?

That would be sweet for a lot of people. I like to build people with similar characteristics to me. It's a fairly recent gaming phenomenon that allows half way decent blond hair, it's a big plus for me. So yeah allowing different ethnic groups would be great for people who like to build characters they physically identify with.

Yeah game play trumps graphics, I'd play a stick figure game with solid gameplay. But we are at the stage where we should get both.

This is something I very much want myself. Since I'm considered ethnic creating some with a character preset that looks similar to my races facial features would be great.

That' s what Fallout 4 allowed me to do, which I loved very much.

I feel like Inquisition's CC was a step in the right direction, you could create a detailed character. I'm just hoping Andromeda takes it further, improves on past mechanics and fixes issues like more hair styles for the playable character.

It would be good for them to at least keep DAI character creation because it allows for people who are not all that big on character creation to do simple things, while also allowing for more detailed customization.

Both Fallout 4 and the sims game are two variations of this new CC, but If Mass Effect adopts this technique even just a little, it will allow for more opportunities.

Plus I just want to change my characters hairstyle in the middle of the game or to put on some tattoos for my squad or some piercings to make me and my squad looked pimped out not only with our armor but with our faces as well.

That's all I'm saying

I'm more interested in game play customization. How can I evolve my powers, can I select from a list of powers, is it class based? In game how can I mod my armor and weapons, what range of armor and weapons are in the game. Both mechanics and appearance matter for the gear. I hate wearing ugly armor or using ugly guns.

You Are thinking the exact thing I'm thinking! That's all they need to do.

I personally love DAI CC but if you don't have a pc to mod it( which I do have it for pc and ps4 and will be moding it) you can't make the changes necisary to make your OC even more unique.

I agree. Personally I think the MASS EFFECT TRILOGY didn't have very good in game armor customization or style( I love the overall style of the game don't get me wrong, but I liked the enemy's armor more than my OC Shepard) DAI had awesome options for armor, hopefully they improve the armor, weapons, and power upgrades in the game.

I'm not sure, but It still has awesome CC one that can be set as an example for all CC in games. Shoot I would just get it for the CC and not even play the game.

Thats why I got Fallout 4, I jusy so happen to love playing the game anyways.

It's OLD and that's the reason it doesn't make since game developers haven't noticed it sooner. Regardless of it's age, it's still more developed( it might be more processing power, Idk)

That's my life in Bioware's games. I spend more time doing character creation than a lot of things. I even get reference pictures at different angles to create a very life like character. just for sh#ts and giggles. But I'm kind of a die hard fan of CC.

First thing: once the creation is done, let us walk around and have a conversation; I'm tired of spending hours in CC, and the first expression the character makes, there goes all the work.

Second: sideburn lenght slider. It's long past time.

I think the DAI system is overkill and doesn't produce better results. Are there many good, memorable Inquisitors out there? I think making a video like "The many faces of Femshep" for Inquisition would be much harder despite having a theoretically better CC.

The SWTOR system is ok for me. I've had fun making characters in that game and I find them memorable and different.

Finally, make the quality consistent. Don't make something very technologically advanced for one part of the CC and then this for another, equally important, part.

not sure for ME:A actually ... I played, with only 1 exception, all default Sheps because they were very pleasing to the eye.

I wouldn't mind a system like in FO4 but I personally do not need a customization overkill. Longer hair would be nice but if the PC is Alliance Navy again I'd give both a regulation hairstyle so long flowing locks would be out for me lol
