What are sigils ingame?

 

How are they made, who makes them, how are they applied to armour, are they just runes with a different name?

i think they are like runes, or at least with similar concept. a megical item that applies to your armor. but it's only a guess in my part. you raise a good question, but i think the reason it's no called runes is for the player to more easily know, what apply to armor and what to weapons.
