Templar armor?

After completing "Broken Circle" and finding myself with both Templar armor and helmet, I decided to equip Alistair accordingly.  But where would you find Templar boots and Gauntlets?  According to what I read online, you have to zap the Templar at Lake Calenhad.  Before you go to the tower, there's the obnoxious Templar Carroll.  Once you finish Broken Circle, however, no more Templars at Calenhad.  What gives?

Templar gauntlets and boots aren't intended to be acquired by players. In particular, templar boots have no model so if you equip them you'll have invisible legs.

Then why provide the armor and helmet?  Using other gauntlets doesn't work aesthetically.  Agreed, with the long skirts, the boots don't matter since you don't see them.

If you are playing on PC and are not opposed to using mods, one of my pathetic efforts at modding was a 'fix' for the invisible boots, that assigns the item one of the existing massive boots models. (I also fixed the material scaling of the templar gloves, primarily to avoid the mis-matched chest-and-gauntlets that typically plagues the many templars in Lothering.)

And for a more heavy-handed approach that makes a complete set of the gear available, I added a full set of templar gear (including boots and gauntlets and with a modest set bonus) as  a 'reward' that spawns after Alistair agrees to teach the specialisation.

Spoiler

Files are at the My mods... link in my sig (tsm_templar_armour-fixes and A Stylish Uniform), as I've pulled most everything I released from the DA Nexus.

And finally, a no-mods solution for the unobtainable gauntlets would be to equip Heavy Plate Gloves, which use the same model as (and thus are  identical in appearance to) the Templar Gauntlets (Massive Gloves A).

Hi skymoves, thanks for the rundown on the Templar armor situation.  I did try to go to the link you provided to your mods, but all it did was get me to the mediafire site where I still didn't see your stuff even after setting up an account.

TSM, your link takes you to a generic mediafire page (where they want you to sign up). Didn't you have this stuff on Nexus? You also had that helmet mod that removed the face cover..

Merry Christmas!!!!

I use another mod that just gives the DA2/DAI Templar armor style. It's made by the same person who brought in the Grey Warden armors from DA2/DAI. It still blends well enough in the DAO setting.

Urgh... sorry about that! I remade the link (and tested it!) and it should work now -> My Terrible Mods

@ Luna - I did have some of the files on Nexus (and some others on a Tumblr blog), but I deleted or set them all to hidden quite a while ago.

TSM, thanks for the link!  I'm impressed with how many mods you made!  It's a pity you didn't keep them on Nexus so that there would be a detailed explanation of what each one does.  I don't suppose you have detailed descriptions elsewhere?

And a belated Merry Christmas to you, luna!  I'm doing a dwarf noble run through and am curious to see how well that works with LRS!

I slapped together a page with short descriptions of the files... be aware there are some spoilers there, for both DAO and Inquisition. And most of the archives have a detailed ReadMe. (Too detailed, some might say...)

This is completely off-topic, but how did I not realize I was using some of your mods before?  I have Myaja's Hammer and I think I had the Warden Alistair Wears Warden Armor (Warden's Keep version) - and of course I now see more I need :)

Thanks for the descriptions, TSM!  I've already installed the Templar armor, but so far haven't gotten Alistair to teach me Templar skills.  (That's too bad since I want him to have high grade Templar armor as opposed to Cailan's armor which is what I normally give him.)
