Party members won't follow my character around.  They will just stand there and will only come when in combat.  It's very annoying because it would take really long before they can reach me when fights start.  The weird thing is if I switch to take control of party members, they follow just fine.  It's only my character that they just won't.   Help me pls.

Are you in stealth? I ask because I've noticed in the past that party members won't follow anyone in stealth & flank attack+ & leaping shot+ alt, stealth isn't on a timer.

Hope that helps a little.

Then that's it. They will follow once you get a certain distance from you.

If you are stealthed, which you often are with Ring of Doubt, your party won't follow close enough to trigger combat since the whole idea of being stealthed is that you sneak up on enemies and land a critical hit on them before they know you are there. Same if you put the ring on another party member, that one lags back far enough to be out of aggro range.

In either case, those that lag behind do teleport or run to you when combat starts or, once you move too far away from them. I know it looks like a glitch but, it is intentional so that the stealthed party member can attack unnoticed before non stealthed party members draw the aggression of the enemies you are sneaking up on. Thus the ability works best on the controlled character since non controlled stealhed characters lag behind the rest of the party, thus loosing the major benefit of being stealthed.

If it annoys you that badly, simply don't use that ring. Remove it and fire off any attack to break stealth.

Alternately, if you want to use it but do not want to be stealthed, fire an attack at nothing and then, use the search function while walking until everyone sheathes their weapons, then stop searching and walking so your character will sheath their weapon and, you won't stealth.

I just got up to explore Storm Coast and my companion decided to go ahead of me instead of following.

I consider it a bug, because I don't think it's designed to make party members hold in place. Plus, there is another bug that causes party members to just run around aimlessly and not follow you in formation. Ring of Doubt should let party members follow you, and then you should be able to tell the party to hold position if you need to sneak somewhere.

Not sure how it works with a rogue, since my only rogue takes it alone, but I seem to remember Sera and Cole using stealth and the rest of the party follows anyway. So yeah, I think it's a bug. Try saving and then reloading.

I stopped using the Ring of Doubt with Dorian yesterday and I could not be happier.

Travel along the rivers in Jaws of Hakkon is no longer tedius with Dorian stealthing and stopping every time a poison spider or a Hakkonite trash mob comes within 5 miles of Dorian.

Dorian with the Ring of Doubt is extremely aggravating:

... like driving in rush hour stop and go traffic when you want to get somewhere important (like a quest marker).

... like sales robo-phone calls during dinner.

... ???
