Thx for the heads up! In DA:O i did everything i could to let her be with her unicorns and flowers and all that. At that moment i noticed how I was the one wearing the pants in the relationship so i became a little overprotective. It's part of my nature. Can't change it u_U

There are one or two more instances later in the game were you need to encourage the compassionate idealistic approach as well

if you want her to reach the end of the game as her nice(er) version.

Part of the reason I don't dismiss the common comparisons between Liara and Leliana is because my reaction to both characters tends to be the same: Dominantly positive with small bursts of mild annoyance at the way they're written.

Forward and flirtacious LIs are the best. ;)

True but i admit that the sweet and soft french accent did most of the work xD

That's exactly how I feel about those two characters.

I'd love to see (or hear, I guess) Corinne Kempa get a major role in a Mass Effect game.

Mass Effect could use more characters with accents from outside the Anglosphere anyway. The Alliance is basically the U.N. on steroids, so it should have a more international feel than it does. As it is, it too often just seems like it's composed of North Americans and Brits.

So true and it shouldn't be that hard. Diversity is what alliance means. Otherwise, just stamp some national flag on the bridge and be done with it. If we could have Corinne on the crew it would be AMAZING

Well, apparently the Protheans are actually Jamaicans... So who knows what crackpot theories are going to be proven by aliens with weirdly familiar accents. (Hungarians maybe?...)

And yes, a large mix of nationalities would be best.

I'd like to see different accents to help show that the Alliance is also made up of humans from different countries on Earth with their own languages that can be heard if only a bit when they speak.

Would be interesting if they tried coming up with new accents for humans that aren't even from Earth.

I agree about more different accent for the human characters. It feel strange that the DA franchise have more non-english accented characters than ME.  (well, not that I can really enjoy-tell the difference between english/american/whatever accent when the dialogues are dubbed anyway...but non english accent are usually dubbed. And if there is an Italian accented character, I REALLY hope is not dubbed with a south Italy accent if the character is not from south Italy. Always grate my nerves when this happen. U_U)

Meh, not going to happen. They never went far with developing any kind of truly alien elements, language was solved immediately via implants,

and culture is more like specific human characteristics blown out of proportions.

So inventing a new accent when they don't even have the original alien language?... Probably not.

I'm hoping there'll be some communication learning to be done in Andromeda with unfamiliar aliens. They might do some immediate understanding thing but I'm really hoping they won't.

Was just wishful thinking on my part. That is something I'd like to see more in sci-fi though, the exploration of new human cultures, accents, languages, biological adaptions, etc that would arise from humans spreading throughout the stars.

Those humans would end up becoming pretty......"alien" to their cousins on Earth. Which is why I tend to find Star Trek/ME style "aliens"(that are essentially humans in costumes with a gimmick) to be kinda silly and redundant.

And the most frustrating thing is how hard it is to pinpoint exactly what bothers me. It's not that I think the writers were wrong to give them some spotlight, more that I didn't like how their stories progressed when they did.

That, I can very much understand. There are times when Corinne's voice became almost musical.

My hope is that we wont have another forced romance, one that takes most of the spotlight from other possible LI's. I liked Liara as much as the next guy, or girl, but she was by no means my favourite, that was Tali, with Jack in second place, and I absolutely hated how the game seemed to keep beating me over the head saying, "Did you romance Liara? Isnt Liara amazing? Here, have another chance to initiate a romance, you obviously chose wrong. What, you didnt initiate it? Here, have another chance." NO, I dont want to romance Liara, she's clingy and a bit stalkerish, ide rather be with Tali, leave me alone.

The problem feels like she's overfamiliarized with you too much regardless of how you're treating her. She also has the most scenes out of any character, but that's because she's the only one who can't die, not sure if it's favoritism or because it just happened that way. Before the DLC ending, if you don't romance the ME1 romance, the last person you see is Liara. They do seem to push her toward you a lot. I would rather have invincible companions or at least planned ahead than getting stuck with an invincible companion with the most scenes and plot importance. It's not like it's matter since all the dead companions are basically being swap with an understudy, so basically, nothing changes whether they live or die. It just makes the choices very shallow.

ME1 had a few characters that didn't have a British or American accent. There was that one side mission about helping a man recover his wife's body, he was Indian if I remember correctly. I agree though, I'm hoping Andromeda will have a larger variety of characters and thus accents.

I also hope that sex is optional with some romances since I liked how some romances in Inquisition were written to be interpreted as sexual or non-sexual and I believe that in Dorian romance, you could choose to ask him to wait because you thought the two of you should learn more about each other.

If it was for me I'd pick the morally sober girl who wants to have a proper engagement before marrying and having the full benefits (intended in the wider meaning). I don't care to see these benefits, it suffices the game lets me know when they happen and why.

The only thing of this kind I had the chance to role was with Aerie in Baldur's Gate 2. From there on, I think I havent' seen anything like it.

Please have romances like these.

The flaw to bioware romances is that sex is the reward. Adults don't behave like this teenagers do. Sex shouldn't be the "end" of a relationship arc, I'd much rather sex happen far earlier in the relationship like it does with MOST adult relationship and progress past the point of sex being the reward and instead explore relationship past sexual encounters.

How many BioWare romances actually end with sex as the reward, though? I'm going to cheat and count the Mass Effect games as a trilogy, mind you.

the german accent is really cool and very sexy! although it might be because my accent makes me look like too relaxed and easy going to the point where i don't really care about anything even when is not true xD opposites attract

He would have to voice a companion, because no one who speaks german can be an evil man.

When done right, they're a way for the player to develop closer attachments to the characters. If I was romancing someone in Andromeda I'd hope it would affect more than... well, a few cutscenes differing and then the end ala 1/2/3. Like I'd like it mentioned in squad banter and stuff.
