Essentially i'm meaning Bioware from ME1 and ME2 (and around that time period)? How many is involved (if any)? I heard a few names (Drew for example) but was hoping there was a larger list.
This could help elevate my confidence in this game. Cheers

Well, just going off memory:
That's off the top of my head. A lot of people in head positions who know exactly what Mass Effect is about. Not to mention that a portion of Bioware Edmonton is also helping develop the game with Bioware Montreal, so there's bound to be some old timers there as well.
Rest easy, there are some people making this game who have heard of a certain Mass Effect before ![]()
Well, just going off memory:
- Yanick Roy is the Studio Director at Montreal and basically oversees the whole game. He's been onboard with Bioware since before ME1, and worked directly with Casey Hudson before moving to Montreal to help build the new studio and guide MEA's development, as well as supporting ME2 and ME3's development and making DLCs.
- Mike Gamble is a producer for MEA. He's been onboard since before ME2, and was directly in charge of DLC like Citadel like ME3
- Mac Walters has been a writer for Mass Effect since ME1, and he's still onboard as Narrative Director
- Casey Hudson, original visionary for the franchise and the Mass Effect godfather, was involved for most of the pre-production of the game, where they set the ground base for the game, before he left several months ago.
- John Dombrow was a writer for ME2 and ME3. Some of his best work includes the genophage arc in ME3.

Fantastic mate, i'm definitely more at ease. Thanks for the info.
Nice. John Dombrow wrote Javik too IIRC glad he is still around. Sucks losing Weekes tho since he is full time Dragon Age now right? I think he is the novels/lead writer after Gaider stepped down/aside to work on other stuff?
It's a shame that Drew is not involved in ME:A, as far as i know

He is no longer with Bioware. He left game development to write fantasy novels.

He came back a few months ago but i think he is working on a few features of SWTOR

I just found out myself

Patrick Weekes is the new lead writer of Dragon Age, David Gaider moved on to Bioware's secret IP.

Awesome! I hadn't heard that.
I'd love to see him return to Mass Effect, but I suppose it's a little late for Andromeda. I wonder if they'll ship him over to the new IP with Gaider.

Any idea what that IP is all about?

I thought Mac was the creative director now. Isn't he?

I have no source, but I remember reading a rumor on here around E3 that Casey Hudson really liked how 'online/connected' next gen consoles were, and they wanted to take advantage of that. The rumor also talked bout a Destiny type game, but with cyberpunk elements. Online open world cyberpunk shooter basically.
But honestly I think nobody knows except BioWare.

aww..well, good for the mmo fans but it's not really my style

None at all. They've said even less about that than they have Andromeda.
About 1:20 in this vid Bioware discusses it:

Wasn't that a game called Shadow Realms or am i missing something?

Yeah and it was so bad they cancelled it.

That's a different new IP that got cancelled after we got a few trailers (I think the gameplay might not have been testing well, but I can't remember). I think Gaider announced that he was moving on to the new IP after Shadow Realms was cancelled, so I'm fairly certain there's something else going on.
Yeah and it was so bad they cancelled it.
That seems unnecessarily harsh for something we knew very little about.

I remember that at first i was really excited about the idea of a RPG in a modern setting...but then they mentioned that it was a 4vs1, online and so on and i didn't care anymore. I just googled it and found out that it was cancelled on february. No big loss, IMO.
So, i guess that there's no new IP...

I think that the rumors about a new IP started in 2014, this was cancelled in 2015..i'm fairly certain that they were talking about that game but it would be nice if i'm wrong
...unless it's a MMO
...
How can you be more at ease when Super MAC still has his tainted grip around the franchise?
Mac's antagonists have sucked, but I loved Zaeed and Garrus. I think if they find someone to write the bad guys it won't be too bad. I thought his Miranda was vastly better than ME3's too. I'm willing to give him another shot, and I'm curious to see how his writing goes without Casey Hudson's influence.
The Dragon Age team bounced back pretty well after all the harsh criticisms that stemmed from Dragon Age 2. I hope the Mass Effect team does too.

But didn't Gaider move on in mid-2015 after Shadow Realm's cancellation? I could've sworn there was talk about a new, new IP. AFAIK, Gaider is still at BIoWare and not working on DA, so there's got to be something going on.
There is a new IP. Gaider is currently the lead writer on that. I thought it was also the one announced in the posted trailer, but maybe I'm mistaken about that.
In either case, one new IP got cancelled (Shadow Realms), and there is another unnamed one that is still in the works. Here is a link to Gaider announcing it on Twitter:

Shadow Realms had already been cancelled a couple months prior to that.

Ooooh! interesting! it's going to be almost a year since he started working on this..there should be some info very soon, hopefuly

You would be correct! It says so on his twitter account. I was going from what was written on N7 Day last year on the Bioware Blog, when he was still called a narrative director.
