Basically what the title says. I'm finally doing a Solavellan playthrough, but I'd prefer not to bring Solas along (Vivienne, Dorian and Sera have much more interesting things to say in this mission IMHO). Will he still show up for the dance scene, or do I have to have him in my current party for it to trigger?

Solas needs to be in the party for it to trigger.

I'm 99% sure that the answer is no. You only get the dance if they are in your party.

But you do get a visit from Josephine, that beats any dance right?

Cassandra has some interesting things to say on that quest too; mostly complaints. But yeah, Vivienne and Sera are especially fitting for that mission. I understand your reluctance to bring Solas, as he's not the most fitting pick, and only did so on the one playthrough I romanced him for that dance scene.

But Solas has the sexiest line in the game if you bring him to the Winter Palace.
