So I'm almost embarrassed to say this but I just HAD to share my amazement with people who would truly understand what I'm talking about.  I got a new computer for Christmas and among a number of other things, I'm now running an NVIDIA GeForce GTX970 graphics card vs my old ATI Radeon HD6670.

DAI ran ok on my old system.  Load screens were longer than I liked, eyelids/eyes sometimes looked odd, and I cringed every time I had to look into an Orriculum because I knew scoping around was going to be difficult (slow/jerky movements). Oh yeah, and I couldn't make Quizzy's with scars - I could see NPC scars (mostly) but couldn't see them on myself.

Now, for the past two days (hubby set my computer up for me on Christmas Eve because he's nice that way) - I've sat in Inquisition in with my jaw gaping open.  I had no idea clothes had such defined textures to them or that it actually snows in Haven or that Mother Giselle has wrinkles and Harding has a scar!  The list of differences I am seeing between graphics cards is amazing!

As I'm playing now, I'm thinking of all the things I want to see with my new card and while I can hardly wait to get to these things, I can't help but stopping every few minutes to just look around in awe.  LOL

Hats off to BioWare on this one - DAI was gorgeous to me before... now it's just magnificent. I'm impressed that they were not only able to create an enjoyable game across platforms but also covering a wide range of graphic capabilities for the PC.

Yeah, there certainly is a difference between low/medium and high...I've seen a bunch of people that switched from old gen and how different the game was to them once they played on next-gen.

Always nice to see what the game really looks like after upgrading or purchasing a new computer. Try jumping in the puddles or any shallow water and see the splash you make. That's awesome too. :D

True story!  I texted this to my brother last night:  "If I walk in water in DAI I make ripples!" - the things that can make a middle-aged woman smile are silly, I know.  But there it is!

I haven't played DAI since I upgraded my computer for Fallout 4. Imagine there should be some changes with 8 more Gigs of RAM and a new video card.

I'm sure there will be!  You should load it up just to look around.  And it's funny you mention upgrading for Fallout 4.  The whole reason I got a new computer was because I couldn't run Witcher 3 on my old machine.  Now, I can't drag myself away from all the shineys in DAI to actually go play W3.  I'll get there... eventually. ;)

Just wait till  you see the scene that introduces Skyhold then that's very impressive.

I can't wait to get there!  It's been breathtaking with my old system... I can only imagine what it's going to be on my new one.

Tonight I discovered rain... and the fact that everyone's armor and even skin is wet!  ZOMG!  I'd found that those glistening walls in caves actually had water streaming down them earlier today and now the wet skin on my Inq (and Bull) when she meets him... just amazing.  Can't wait to see what I discover tomorrow!
