So I'm almost embarrassed to say this but I just HAD to share my amazement with people who would truly understand what I'm talking about. I got a new computer for Christmas and among a number of other things, I'm now running an NVIDIA GeForce GTX970 graphics card vs my old ATI Radeon HD6670.
DAI ran ok on my old system. Load screens were longer than I liked, eyelids/eyes sometimes looked odd, and I cringed every time I had to look into an Orriculum because I knew scoping around was going to be difficult (slow/jerky movements). Oh yeah, and I couldn't make Quizzy's with scars - I could see NPC scars (mostly) but couldn't see them on myself.
Now, for the past two days (hubby set my computer up for me on Christmas Eve because he's nice that way) - I've sat in Inquisition in with my jaw gaping open. I had no idea clothes had such defined textures to them or that it actually snows in Haven or that Mother Giselle has wrinkles and Harding has a scar! The list of differences I am seeing between graphics cards is amazing!
As I'm playing now, I'm thinking of all the things I want to see with my new card and while I can hardly wait to get to these things, I can't help but stopping every few minutes to just look around in awe. LOL
Hats off to BioWare on this one - DAI was gorgeous to me before... now it's just magnificent. I'm impressed that they were not only able to create an enjoyable game across platforms but also covering a wide range of graphic capabilities for the PC.
