I'm wondering how many people still play. Is it a ghost town? or is it relatively active? This game has been out for some time, and i wanted to know if there is still good lobby variety and games?

Yes, people still play. It might take a while to fill a new lobby, but if you search for unknown unknown gold you can find a lobby within ~30 seconds on PC. I believe PC is the platform with the most players currently. Or at least it was at the time support ended per BroJo.

I still have no problem finding games in silver and gold, don't play bronze or Platinum so wouldn't know about those

Back up your DVDs.  I lost the first four seasons and half of the fifth season of Doctor Who to DVD rot.  BBC used poor quality DVDs.

 

From the sixth season onwards, I switched to Blu-Ray and so far, so good.

I have everything that is on blu-ray for the current series in blu-ray, I'm actually watching classic Who right now (which is manufactured by Warner Brothers)

Nobody plays, the forums are dead, the servers are being taken offline, go home, it's not worth it.

I recently played a bit of multiplayer on the PS3 to shore up my EMS and had no trouble finding people to play with. I left my search settings completely open though and didn't play more than three or four 1-2 hour sessions. Never looked at the difficulty either.

To be fair, the fact that we so often see this topic replicated is probably a good thing. Indicative of a (relatively) healthy player base just by existing in the first place.

Not only is the game still alive, but I constantly see players with low level gear and loadouts that reveal they are new to the game. I like them in my matches, they give my defector RTs and Hunters time to kill.

It's not that, but I keep dropping into games where there are two or three sub 120 on gold with no gear and they just can't stay alive, I don't mind soloing a round or two but I can't do it all the time and I get really discouraged and tired.

They do that to me on purpose sometimes. I suspect it's because they hardly ever hear my shots but the kill feed is saturated with FF(Geth rocket trooper) Geth trooper, or similar. Actually I had such a game just last night. The pigs came in on wave 4, they were active, and then after a while, they all started to die. I think purposly, to see what exactly I was doing. Hope they liked it because there was this RT guy that kept double tapping his launcher for whole 15 seconds of hack duration. It actually got me killed because the troopers were spawning all over the place. Well all in all I don't mind, I am prepared to solo anyway every time I create such a match. In fact I always start alone, and hope pugs will be noobs and start to drop in after wave 2. That's my fun time. Once I got it done with only 5 BW bullets
