But 100% of accidents caused by a defective ignition which can't cut the engine, defective brakes that don't stop the vehicle or a stuck open throttle aren't. The geth refused to turn off when the button was pressed by their Rightful Masters, becoming dangerous when secondary methods of deactivation were attempted. They're broken. And you claim not to be a troll with laughable strawmen like this .

What has Dark Souls 2 to do with Mass Effect 3? Try to compare the game on console and on PC and you'll know why the player base on PC is small.

Yes, Origin is crap. So what? On PC you aren't limited to Origin, you can set up your own voice/chat server. Or mod the game/Origin. Or use Steam. Or one of the other alternatives. There are almost no limits.

The village idiot strangely has a point on playerbases. Most multiplatform games that aren't Minecraft and CS have way more players on console in their prime. Even Battlefield, which started on PC exclusively now has 80% of its playerbase on console in both 3 and 4. For a recent anecdote, there are something like200-250k PS4 and 100k Xbox players online in Battlefront at any given time, but only 10-20k on PC, and that section of the community is already speaking of difficulty finding games.

 

For ME3 though, the playerbase is probably similar across platforms, and shrinking faster on consoles as PC communities do tend to gain pairity and last longer on older games. More console players bought the game (especially Xbox), but as you mentioned many have moved to newer consoles/games and no longer play.

 

Bashing PC for origin's potato communication interfaces when it has plenty of alternatives is classic sinful, though, and makes my head hurt. I guess I didn't need those I.Q. points anyway.

I'm saying Ventrilo, Steam or similar are pretty easy to use for anyone who wants a decent communication interface and is capable of operating a PC, which I assume most PC gamers can do. Not really a disadvantage of the platform unless you want to listen to screaming 12 year olds cry about kill stealing, or be "hit on" (read: creeped out) by random losers. Actually, I'd argue that's a huge advantage in PC's favour.

I guess it makes sense why you think it being slightly harder to annoy random people over the internet would be a disadvantage, but the fact remains that any two (or more) players who wish to communicate have easy means to do so on PC without Origin via 3rd party software. It's hardly different from using Xbox or PSN interfaces except those come preinstalled on the consoles, rather than making you spend 3 seconds Googling "Ventrilo". Such difficult. Very effort. Wow

I played older Battlefields and CS on PC (still do occasionally for the latter, but I'm pretty garbage now) and ran into kids, though they tended more toward the douchey 13-16 year olds who just discovered what "trolling" is rather than the prepubescent squeakers you find on console. It's more of a stereotype on either, though, and if you get one you can just mute them anyway.

Grill gamer problems are obviously overstated. Everyone knows Earl gamers have it far more difficult.

Discord has been go-to choice lately. It's free. It's ridiculously simple to setup and works on several system platforms. Even mobile devices.

 

The folks that I've harassed into trying it out all say it's much better for voice than the in-game option. There's nothing finer than trash talking pugs among friends with them being non the wiser.

Then why isn't everybody doing it and sending those wonderful troll/compliment msg or speeches like I used to get on X-Box? Because everybody is using something different to communicate on PC (Steam, Origin, Command, or something else the fans come up with where BioWare/EA failed) means everybody is separated and in their own world. Not the same as being unified under one effective system everybody uses from the start and with everybody getting a headset with their X-Box (reason why it's more chatty on X-Box then PS3 too).

 

And sure, fine with friends, but outside of that circle, it's different. That's all I'm saying. And don't take it so hard, PC race, you've got other things going for you too. But not this. Says the Terminator who has access to all versions.

^ ME3mp on X-Box has the option to mute anybody from the in game menu screen if someone sounds annoying, because BioWare loves X-Box players more... for some reason PS3 lacks this feature. Guess BioWare don't love PS3 owners as much. But lucky PS3 players have another method, but I forget if it can be done in game or not?

DAMP is pretty sh*tty agreed BUT I still have faith in the ME team. Will choose to remain optimistic and continue to procrastinate on these forums until the game is released.
