None of my Hawke's send him back to his former Master. My Hawke just aided Mages and confronted him about his attitude. Other than that my Hawke was more of a teaser.

 

Zevran was such an annoying pain in the rear and not very attractive (imo, none of the elves are except for Fenris and Solas(he grew on me)).  Not to mention that the gift system + him telling my Warden that he prefers women made me feel as though my guy was buying his affection.  That's why I ended up romancing Morrigan and I loved her romance so much I consider her my Cousland's canon choice.  Anders just screamed "I'm crazy!" right off the bat. He was practically thirsting for MHawke directly after the Carl mission. You should know nothing is going to end well when you playfully flirt with someone and they mention drowning you in blood. 

 

With Dorian, I avoid flirting with completely until after the fight with Mother Giselle. I usually pick the annoyed reactions to his grandstanding and crumb drops about how handsome he is. It made the romance so much better.  Not on Fenris level, but surprisingly good.

 

That's a common sentiment with many ss romancers. I also didn't like Zevran for that reason. If you have to be constantly reminded that men are only a side dalliance then it's not a relationship. You're a side piece. 

 

My warden deserves better. To the point I created a female warden and romanced Alistair instead.

Dorian.  I also really like Dorian with Iron Bull.  Tal-Vasoth Iron Bull is always there for him saving his life, according to the Trespasser slides, which is very sweet.

As much as I like F!Quisitor and Sera, Isabela and sarcastic FemHawke are the cat's pajamas. I really like their dynamic.

Of all the ones I've tried (as opposed to just watching on YouTube), Isabela/Hawke has got to be one of my favorite s/s pairings in the series. Top three, at least! They have great chemistry.

Bela/Sarcastic Female Hawke is my canon for DA2, but while I adore both of them, the actual romance didn't quite move me the way that other BioWare romances have. I'm not quite sure why, but the same is true for all the DA2 romances for me...

I'd say my favorite couples ever are my King Cousland/Morrigan. That's because Kieran get's to live a happy, safe life as his father's legitimated bastard and have Morrigan as a mother.

 

However, Male Lavellan/Dorian do it for me.

I'm gonna say Sera x Inquisitor (Qunari, preferably). Dorian's is sweet, sure, but Sera's romance is both sweet and fun.

Sera too rustic, vulgar for me..  street behaviour low class char, with a terrible voice (i dont like see/hear in the group ) and ugly with her full lip. grrr.

 

Sweet? No. Merrill sweet and cute (and total idiot), Sera not. Sera authentic, good character, but dont a likeable for me. As Vivienne (She is not vulgar, she is simple unsympathetic: "darling..." grrr!)

DAO: Leliana, DA2: Anders, DAI: hmm, it's a tie between Dorian and Sera for male and female respectively. They are both well written. Overall: mHawke x Anders.... because it's my canon for that game, and my only canon same sex romance for DA (so far). It wasn't perfect, and the writing had some awkward and unpolished lines here and there (as did the rest of the game). But it had all the passion/angst and dramatic ending that made it a good story, IMO.

Sera is THRILLED to be with you and she's ready and willing to punch people in the throat the moment they start talking **** about your relationship. When she's scared, she looks to you, and she couldn't care less about your title or money or resources. She just loves you and she loves that you love her. She's so scared of being with you because she knows losing you will hurt like hell, but it's worth it because "being for someone else" is brilliant. I love her journal entries (she's determined to learn stuff for your sake, not to mention devastated if you break up). She tries to do all these sweeping romantic gestures and sort of fumbles with them but that just makes the attempt sweeter (trying and failing to make the bracelet out of your hair, getting you a hat but it's ugly but HEY EVERYONE'S HITTING IT WITH STICKS, her marriage proposal and the lead-up to it). Sera's a bundle of insecurity and confidence and love and I adore her.

I also loved Bull and Dorian's romance with each other, Sera and Dagna's (unfortunately offscreen) romance, and Harding's pseudomance with the Inquisitor.

 

I was very touched by Bull and Dorian, especially given the fairly large outcry about them as an unhealthy relationship. Me, I loved them. I thought they were lovely and sweet, and while it started out as prickly and antagonistic (natural given their backgrounds) I quickly found it very tender, and lovable. My first romance was a Bullmance with a female Quizzie but honestly... um... part of me now thinks Dorian might be even better for him. They're just so sweet, so happy to have found each other.

Is that Sera's proposal? The links are all messed up for me now. I've only done hetero female/male romances (Bull, Solas, Cullen) thus far, so I haven't romanced Sera but totally plan to eventually. I adore her. Love, love, love. She's smart but also limited by circumstance; she's so loving and supportive, and with two very high-friendship female Quizzies in a row with Sera, I was touched at how supportive Sera was, at how loving and caring she was. Forget whether she agrees with you on ancient-elf-culture -- Sera will have your back. She will never let you go. She will be there to the end. I love that.

 

Sera is my favourite romance of any type in a Dragon Age game yet, same sex or otherwise. I love the nicknames, I love her diary, I love her passion, I love the ups and downs, and I love how it develops in Trespasser. I've not completed any of the other same sex options in Inquisition yet, so that could change, but I doubt it. She just pips Leliana for me. Zevran's romance didn't move me at all and I wasn't particularly impressed by any of the DA2 romances...

 

 

I haven't had a character romance Sera, but adore her diaries and how they give us insights into what she is unable or afraid to tell us. I love Sera. One of the great DAI characters, IMO.

 

I'm really fond of Leliana. Maybe that' because I was raised in a rough, masculine environment, so I miss a more feminine presence in my life. 

PS:I'm a straight woman. And yeah, a bisexual character managed to win my heart. A testament to how great BW characters are. 

 

I'm a straight woman, and I adore Leliana since DAO, and adore Sera too here in DAI. And my favorite romances thus far include not just my Quizzies with Bull, Solas or Dorian, but with potential additional partners of either sex. BW has done a beautiful job of creating a universe in which sexual orientation doesn't matter, and how lovely is that? What do we need to do to make this happen worldwide? Why does it even matter? (It doesn't.)

 

In terms of story, my girl Quizzies would have totally (1) romanced Morrigan (I adore her, always will), then and now; and (2) romanced Cassandra, who is ridiculously beautiful and lovely as a character.

It is indeed. Well, it's her proposal and the ceremony. Absolutely precious, and I'm so glad she's getting some well-deserved love in this thread. I definitely recommend her romance if you haven't tried it yet. MY LOVE.

I've played Zevran, Fenris, Anders, Isabela, and Iron Bull. (not counting modded romances because if so Solas would win hands down lol)

 

Zevran is fine but the whole time I'm salty I can't have Alistair, plus there's the whole promiscuous bisexual trope AND "I like girls more than boys" I guess to make him seem "less gay"?? But he's very sweet and I enjoyed it. But not my favorite.

 

Anders, well, the best thing about Anders is how well he's voice-acted (never mind the actual actor...); unfortunately, the romance is bizarrely paced with him confessing his attraction not soon after the death of his former lover; the romance content is also a bit skinty in comparison to others; there's no third act romance stuff at all, I don't think, and you don't even get a final kiss!

 

Isabela is fantastic; her romance felt very GRRRL POWER!!! and I love her and Hawke as a couple. But if I'm honest, it's not as fun to romance women, so even though she's a favorite character, her romance is definitely not my favorite.

 

Iron Bull, um, well, what can I say. The S&M stuff was difficult for me and not my cup of tea, so it thoroughly ruined the romance for me. A huge shame because he was a good character, though like most (not all) DAI characters suffered from lack of development. 

 

All in all, my all time favorite is Fenris. His story is very moving, and I feel like a lot of passion and thought was poured into it. He's a complicated man, bent over and nearly overwhelmed by his past, yet somehow still standing very tall and proud despite it. He talks a big talk but deep down he's terrified of his past catching up with him. He's afraid of commitment, so when he falls in love and admits it, it's quite touching. Life hasn't been kind to Fenris, but you can be, and to see his response to that kindness and love is just lovely.

 

I had a halfway finished romance with Merrill but probably won't ever finish it since I just overplayed DA2 waaaay too much (see above for why lol), but I think hers would've been sweet. DAO!Leliana never much interested me (Morrigan would've been a different story... alas). Dorian I haven't played yet; he's a bit too much of the "sassy gay guy" stereotype for me (Dragon Age loves it's gay and bi stereotypes, sigh), but it's a Gaider romance, so... I'm sure it'll be nice. But nothing will compare to Fenris for me. (Though modded Solas romance came close) EDIT: Forgot about Sera and Josie. Sadly Josie doesn't interest me at all. If I do romance Dorian, it seems unlikely I'll romance Sera, since I just can't bring myself to play DAI that often... kind of a blah fest with awful, awful pacing.

Absolutely Dorian! Love him! He doesn't put a dagger under his pillow,he isn't gonna blow up any chantry,and he actually cries for you in Trespasser DLC! And he's 200% hotter than you and he knows it! LOVE him!

Ugh, some people just come up with the cruelest questions... Anywho...

 

I'm really torn between Kaidan, Dorian and Steve.

 

Kaidan: What can I say, I love the character. I was really sad and upset over the ME1&2 hetero-only-debacle (one of Bioware's foot in mouth moments, but eh, no one is perfect), and thoroughly enjoyed his romance in ME3. The emotions, the connection... eh. And the sexy times of course. I also loved that there was no "no ******" idiocy with him, or the "are you sure you are ok with another man liking you" stupid comments...

 

Dorian: Amazing character. Loved him. This is how you write a character. If he had been a little more realistic, I'm afraid I would have had to google to be sure he's not real. Anyway, loved him, his personality, his looks, the romance, everything.

 

Steve: It was the first time I was seeing a gay character. Not player-sexual, no "no labels... we are all people" nonsense, etc. I felt there was not enough background information to actually have a decently informed opinion on whether he moved on from his husband too fast or not, so not much to say there. It was ok.

 

As for others...

Zevran - I liked it, but the constant "I LIKE WOMEN! DON'T YOU?????" really got on my nerves

Anders - I liked the character, especially in DA2, since in DAO he suffered from "talkie 'bout womensies too much". However this felt more like an affair to me, despite being very affectionate

Fenris - While I do like his character (the looks, the VA) and the overall theme of rival romance, it bothered me that he doesn't seem to move on from his ways. And I get it, people who went through what he went through might never recover. That's realistic. At the same time, regarding his romance, I wouldn't commit to a serious relationship with a person I see will never recover.

 

Sir Gilmore - the romance mod for DAO... was pretty amazing too. Lots of interactions, lots of kisses and sexy times... And overall a lot of background... loved it 

 

Anyway if I were to choose an absoulte favorite, it would be... Kaidan. I love me some Dorian, but love Kaidan a tiny bit more
