Lavellan and Dorian.
It rivals my Lavellan/Solas romance for being my favorite. It's so good. I just love Dorian in general and can't get enough of him. I really hope he becomes our carry-over companion into DA4.

Also templar Hawke and Anders (rivalmance obviously).
Fenris/Hawke was Friendship romance (100%). I never successed rivalry with Fenris. Too hard, if you play with a helpful char. (Ok, sarcastic, but helpful)
I successed rivalry only with Merrill (100%), and was on ~80% with the idiot little Carver.

I never thought i would say this, but Sera is my favourite same sex romance thus far. I think its sweet, and i enjoy watching her grow as a person throughout Inquisition and Trespasser. There is one annoying moment in the romance and even friendship that makes me abit mad, but i can get over it and forgive it.

Sera! I didn't think anyone could top Isabela (obligatory "hurr hurr"). I was initially put off by how unsure Sera was around Lavellan, but I thought she was so charming and funny, I wanted to try and win her over. It was so heartwarming to see her slowly falling for Lavellan as she realised she's loved and accepted. It was almost painfully sweet that in her main romance scene, the greatest gift you can give her is telling everyone how you feel about her. I also love the things she does for/with the Inquisitor (like hats and cookies!).
It had its turbulent moments, but sticking by her was thoroughly rewarded in Trespasser, with even more wonderful diary entries. She's the only one to be concerned about how Lavellan takes the news about elven history. And the marriage proposal! I'm not into marriage, but when she asked, I just thought "how could I ever refuse? All the friggin' yeses!" Even the Inquisitor's acceptance line was golden. I just love her romance so much. I played the Solas romance after and thought it was great, but story relevance could never top Lavellan/Sera as my canon playthrough.
As I mentioned, I've got a really high opinion of Isabela's romance too. I love how she's softer with femHawke, I love their easy-going cameraderie and chemistry (esp with snarky Hawke). She's one of my all-time favourite companions too, which helps. I love duelling the Arishok for her, and then welcoming her with open arms in Act3, no matter how horrible a person she thinks she is. Definitely my favourite after Sera.
I liked Josephine/Adaar, with the 'opposites attract' theme. Not so much in terms of personality, but appearance, social standing etc. Also Leliana/Tabris. Perhaps it's because I like the Andrastian angle to a city elf, but I feel like they're a good match. I love Merrill, but I always feel a bit awkward romancing her because of the hero worship and how emotionally fraught all her scenes are. They aren't many with her and Hawke just chillin'.
I'm not certain about the males, but it'd be Fenris or Dorian. No matter Hawke's personality, I love the dynamic with Fenris. Snarky Hawke lifting his spirits. Diplomatic Hawke being understanding and kind. Aggressive Hawke being fiercely protective but taking no sh*t from him. Or you can be a combo of all three! And he's the same back to Hawke. He'll be so sweet after their mother's death, incredibly loyal and concerned for you when you're in danger. He even has his funny moments, especially in the dlc. Dorian I find very charming. I love the characteristsics he shares with Sera and Isabela - that moment where he realises the protag loves him completely for who he is. And he's another LI who is easy-going and full of humour (my favourite thing!). His Trespasser conclusion is the second best to Sera's, even if it's a little bittersweet because of their parting. I particularly loved romancing him with a Lavellan because of how different their perspectives are.
Zevran is my favourite DAO romance, but it was with a woman. I loved romancing him with a male Cousland too, but I definitely get people's issues. Sometimes it sounds like m/m is an afterthought to him, or like he was conditioned by the Crows. Imo, it's a product of the time when the game was written, when s/s romances (especially m/m) were more unusual and convtroversial (around the same time, maleShep didn't even get a m/m option!). As for Anders, I don't like him, though his relationship doesn't seem as bad with a male LI. Bull's just not my cup of tea.

This gets me every time. You being proud and happy to be with her and giving no ***** what anyone thinks is what makes her happiest. No amount of gifts, jewelry, or titles could ever win her over... she just wants you to want her, and she's so devoted in return. I LOVE MY CUTE ELF WIFE. ;______;

I think that's the key thing about Sera. After a tumultuous life what she really needs is acceptance and stability, and this scene is where she unashamedly shows it for the first time. Adorable. ![]()

My preferred interpretation of this is when the Inquisitor has no idea why she wouldn't have told everyone (and indeed is rather surprised when people don't know already, as she made no secret of it).

It's lovely! One of my absolute favorite Sera scenes. And - of course - the aftermath when she's so giggly and happy that she falls off the bed.

Oh, me too. It's like, 'of course! Why wouldn't I?' and Sera's never really had that before. Everyone's more concerned with their image, you know?

I think I'll continue this thought in the Sera thread.

That might be my favorite scene in the game, except for the appalling clipping issues with any bed that isn't the default...

Anders and Garrett, by far my favourite romance. There are some story bumps along the way, but this one of very few m/m romances that is so tender and loving. While other companions in all of the DA games may end up in relationships with someone else than the protagonist, Anders is in love only with Hawke (which is tragic if you don't romance him). The codex pages say that they support each other through tough times (and between Anders' self-loathing and Hawke's inability to stop everything from falling apart, there's a lot of that). We get a happy ending - fugitives on the run, but together. It's rare to see a gay romance, where they are deeply in love and despite facing problems come out of it strong (and nobody dies).
With Zevran and Bull the physical aspect was more pronounced, Dorian and the Inquisitor are separated at least for now, Kaidan's romance was nice, but felt very casual, and with Steve it felt too soon after his husband's death to really develop into a deeper relationship. And it felt to me Hawke and Anders were the most affectionate couple. Which is also why I wish I had the choice for Hawke's dialogue in DAI, the line about Anders felt really out of character from my Hawke.
Also gonna share this, for the second time this week, because it captures, what I'm talking about

you can bring him along with slavers too if you try to give them one chance to run away. The rivalry and friendship tend to chance each other out then XD

Cassandra, Cullen, Blackwall and Solas aren't same sex romances.
Here are all the (potential) same sex romances:
Leliana
Zevran
Isabela
Fenris
Merril
Anders
Dorian
Iron Bull
Sera
Josephine
I haven't seen many people mention Merril, come to think of it. Isabela seems to be the most popular so far.
Merrill is absolutely adorkable, and I don't care what the game says, she and Isabela both wound up with Hawke at the end of DA2 as far as I'm concerned.
