I have just bought ME2 today and as soon as i have finished installing the game i download all the DLCs from the cerbarus network. after i have done this i press play. FAILED TO AUTHENTICATE DISK. this keeps on happening every time i re-instal the game. atm i am seriosly tempted to go back to EB games and exchange the game to see if it is just that disk that is broken.

Do the usual thing first. Check the archives to learn more. Just ignore the forum's own crippled Finder.

SInce you have a legitimate copy (registered game owner) you can download the digital version via EA's Origins service and never use your disc again.

Contact " support.ea.com " and they'll walk you through the process (I've found it's easiest to just tell them that the disc is "damaged". This lets them quickly pull up the right instructions.)

If i have to go through all this BS, just to get the game working because they are afraid of piracy, i just won't bother buying it.

also got this warning. but able to play normally after I put the disk to the dvd drive. My question is, do I have to put disk1 to the dvd drive everytime I start the game? Why in other games like COD or crysis etc. that you do not need to put the disk for authentication, they just play straight ahead without authenticating the disk. Is this disk authentication NORMAL to ME2? or I didn't install the game correctly. (Mine is ME2 CE)

Well this is happening to me too....
it was working fine until i downloaded and played the DLC.... the disc works well...but its annoying to keep running every time i wanna play...
If theres a solution to this problem that does not include having to use a crack of the game, i would like to hear it.

Ah... i installed the newset patch. 1.02 and nothing happens too.... the message keeps coming up.

I have the same problem. It wont authenticate my brand spanking new game.

I don't don't want to download an 11GB file, That's why I purchased the blooming disk. My question is simple, can I or can't I get the game to work with some nice simple instructions.... or should I just take the game back and get something else?

If you have Nero Smart Start, or any other dvd burning packages loading on staturp, try disabling them.

What is the exact problem?
What is the exact error?
What are your PC specs?
What game version and distribution type is it?

If you cant be bothered giving me answers to my questions, I cant be bothered thinking about this anymore. Take it up with EA Support, they're paid to put up with your vagueness.

There is no such thing as "Specs are up to date".  There are several patches, which result in several versions, and there are quite a few different disk versions around the world.  You could have an English (UK) version, an American version, & who knows how many more?  I don't know.  If you couldn't answer half of what was asked, ther internet and the search engines on it will tell you how to collect the rest, instead of offering just half of an answer.

If English is not your birth language, there are better translation programs than whatever mess you used.  The spelling is really strange (and that's unnecessary with free spell checkers everywhere, including within most good browsers).

Gonna necro this thread a little, as I managed to solve the problem, at least for my own part. Apparently MagicIso wasn't allowing my DVD ROM to recognise the ME disks. Disabling it from starting up in msconfig fixed the issues right away for me.

Screw that. I paid for the game and bought a DVD for a reason; if I am going to waste my bandwidth downloading a game it sure wont be from EA's servers. That this has not already been addressed simply underscores why there is piracy. Paying customers should not have to suffer to use their product legitimatly. EA can DIAF; they clearly dont care once they have their box sales off you.

Its also the same advice Ive given out hundreds of times before without incident. The person I was responding to already has the game registered to their account, so I believe that my advice would fall under the "fair use" clause of 1974 copyright act. ;)

maybe just get the game off origin? if you enter the activation code in redeem activation code, it gives you the game.
