I've heard from a few ppl that they've had a game ruined before they even finished it due to all the hate. That's why I try so hard to form my own opinion and let it set solid before I start reading it. Not always possible tho, unless you live in a cave.
yeah I prefer to form my own opinion too as I've had games befoer that have had poor ratings and strangely enough thoroughly enjoyed them. One I remember got a scoer of 50/100 I liked the game. It was a racing game Nigel Mansell's World Championship I think. I can unjdrestand peoples problems withthe ending of ME3 but it's never bothered me too much I agree it's a bit weak but still the games pretty solid for the most part and solid enough for me to overlook it.

Reading, hearing or seeing spoilers don't bother me. So spoil away. It won't stop me from playing the game.
My first playthrough will be just to do what I can, and if I miss anything, which I know I will, I can do another playthrough to see the parts I missed. No big deal
Indeed that's what deoing multiple playthrough's is all about in my opinion.

I would like to do a blind first playthrough but I know I won't last. I'll end up googling someone's romance or franticly try to find out what happens when I side with X or whatever.
I would also like to be more of dbag when given the chance but I don't think I'll do that either. My intense need to be liked and a decent person in BioWare games is unreal. I gotta get dem homies, ya feel? Plus I feel guilty when I act mean.
Fingers crossed I'll be a massive knob to everyone while I run around and make my choices blindly! ![]()

Pssht I'm not indoctrinated! By the way can I show you a brochure for our lovely new holiday park on Horizon? It's called Sanctuary, you'll love it, you get a loyalty card and everything.
I don't blame you when it comes to DAI. There was a situation with erm, someone or something, animal, vegetable or mineral, and I wondered 'if I hadn't been spoiled about that, would I have figured it out?'. I like to think I would have but I'll never know. Maybe it only seemed obvious because I knew already, or maybe I'd have been a clever clogs and gone all Sherlock on it. Actually that happened maybe 2 and a half times in DAI come to think of it.
I could have written that last line of yours. If curiosity kills the cat, and if I was a kitty, I'd be very very dead by now. 'I just want to see what this one choice does, it shouldn't hurt'. Omg that reminds me of when I ruined ME3 Citadel for myself -
Spoiler
Nah, I think I'll pass, that Sanctuary of yours sounds a bit shady. Maybe if you ring in the next door they'll hear you out about our lord and saviour The Illusive Man.
I'm enjoying DAI a lot so far, those cameos and references of previous games are pretty tasty. So far, and as I said previously, I've been spoiled about a few minor things, so I'm doing my best to not read anything else.
My damn curiosity almost made me read the spoilers you wrote earlier, but I guess I've won this battle (I really really hope so).

1. Avoid spoilers at ALL costs. Even neglecting twitter/youtube/forums altogether if necessary. I ended up learning wayyyyy too much about DA:O, DA2 and especially Inquisition before I played it. Many spoilers were accidental, for example last week I was an hour away from the Temple of Mythal when, absent mindedly reading a forum post about something else, someone said...SpoilerBugger. Now I'll never know if I would have gasped audibly at that moment when it was revealed *looks wistfully into the distance with a tear in my eye*.
So yeah, fingers firmly in ears and hands over eyes till I'm done.
2. For goodness sake make the effort to read the codex! There's actually some interesting stuff in there but I pout like a child and don't bother until my 2nd or 3rd run.
3. Take my time and look around every corner, even if I'm rushing to somewhere super interesting.
4. For pity's sake don't google 'which is the best romance'. Just go for whoever appeals to me.
5. Also don't google 'what happens if you side with the ____'. I'll choose what feels right and live the consequences, whatever they end up being.
6. Try and read all the comics/books before I play. (yeah right, pipe dreams)
7. Make up my own mind about the game before I go searching for other people's opinions. If I love it I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon of hating it, letting others convince me I should hate it too.
Of course this works the other way round as well. If I'm not impressed, that's okay, but I have to try and not shout at ppl on the internet who actually liked it.
Do people actually Google 4 and 5 on their first run?
Regarding 1, when you are playing a year old game, you have to expect spoilers sometimes being uncovered.
Fully agree on 2, I should read the codex as well, I am just too excited to play the game to do it (we need a companion app so I could read it while bored, not while playing a game)
Fully agree on 3, but again, sometimes, one is too excited to move on to the next things in the game, it is really hard...
There is still a lot of time to finish up on 6, 3 books and new comics books are easy to devour in a year
And if you are certain you will buy the game, there really is no point in 7. Reviews and critics are good as long as you do not own the game yet.

The only thing I'm planning on doing is avoiding as many spoilers as possible, with the exception of romance options. I like to know what fish are available, but I will likely not go with the one I choose. For DA:I, I was going to go with Sera, but when I got the game, I decided to play as a dude first. I just couldn't get into my female character. Ended up with Cassandra. Didn't regret a thing. Still haven't done Sera's romance. Never will. I like knowing only a brief bit about the romance options before hand, because learning more about Cassandra was what made me romance her twice. Only done two play throughs. So for Andromeda, I will learn who is romance-able, but I won't take it any further than that. I'll figure out who I'll go with as I play the game.

I do the same thing, I'm my own worst enemy. ![]()
In my first play of DA:O and DA2 I was lovely to everyone. Then I decided to try and make different worlds, but realised that being thoroughly evil is hard, especially in Origins. You're the hero after all.
So I ended up with specific morals for each. None is evil altogether, they all have their own values. It makes is much easier for me, for the first time I can do mean things because my protagonists all have reasons for what they do.
For example, in my good guy world ppl are so good they have no time for dodgy guys like Sten, who's left to his fate, or Zev, who is recruited but rebels in the end. They won't do any stealing quests but will do things like execute Jowan because that's justice, it's what nobles do, and he's a bad guy. High moral compass but not everyone fits so they can be harsh. Also rubbish at dealing with magic as they know nothing about it They don't know how to deal with a demon and so Amalia dies despite their best efforts to save her and my warden was devastated. But she would never know that you had to trick that demon, so she has to live with what happened.
Etc etc etc, I have 4 DA worlds and 4 ME worlds, different morals in each and all likeable and good. Mostly. But they'll be one or two things that press their buttons so they make a 'bad' choice as it makes sense for them.
It ends up being more rewarding than be a cookie cutter good guy/bad guy. You get a realistic character with flaws, and things they love and will fight to protect. And they have to live with the consequences of their actions, which is interesting storytelling.
Go on, give it a try. ![]()

I do /facepalm.
Spoilers started happening straight away. I was playing DA:O a year ago, looking something up in the forums, and there'd be a mention of DAI in a post on a DA:O thread. Or a title of a new thread would pop up like (DAI and Trespasser spoilers) -
Oh god yes, a codex app would be amazing. I could read them in the bath. ![]()

Avoid too much spoilers.
Try to avoid reload to hear all the options, it would ruin replay.
Read every codex possible.
Keep low expectations for romance, especially with ME track record and M/M options.

I agree with you, a blind playthrough would be great. But again, I'll probably end up looking something up, be it the outcome of a decision, or what other people have done in a given situation.I would like to do a blind first playthrough but I know I won't last. It is really difficult for me to not act as a softie, so that had made me take some decisions that might seem a bit irrational haha
I usually feel bad if I take some harsher decisions.

I'm guilty of that too, reloading and trying again to see what happens. It ends up making the cutscenes kinda stale because I know them too well, not to mention weakening my character's choices long term. Knowing every option can take the drama right out of a choice.

Funny thing is, I don't mind "spoilers" at all. I can still enjoy a good story even if I know what happens. In fact, before I went through the story of Fallout 4 I've read a lot about it online to know what I was getting into. In one case I was really glad I "spoiled" myself the suprise.
My only rule for the upcoming game will be not to buy it before reading some informative reviews and/or watch some gameplay material. I want to know what to expect before I decide whether I buy for full price, only on sale or not at all. I broke that rule too often in the past though

The one rule I will make sure to follow is to do as much feedback analysis as possible before committing to buy. The analysis will probably be deeper than other brands because, from my perspective, ME:A is a franchise regeneration attempt and I never buy into these strategies without doing some additional research. Truth is, I'm far more interested in seeing how this strategy performs in the market place, and how it is adopted in the core fanbase, than I am of actually playing it.

Unleashed the Cerberus plot tumor, replaced Drew Karpyshyn as lead writer in ME2 despite having a grand total of 2 games worth of writing experience, wrote a bunch of abysmal comics, co-wrote ME3's hated endings with Casey Hudson.
