Ok. I am having trouble disrupting the rift at the river/waterfall next to the farms. No matter where I stand (near or far), it seems to be really spotty on whether I can disrupt the rift when it crystalizes. Sometimes I'm only able to disrupt it once before I get killed. Most of the time, when the hand appears, no matter how I right click it, my guy just stands there and eventually he gets killed. Is this a bug? Or do I have to be at a certain place and distance for it to work?

On the rocks across the river form the base camp/farm side of the river or, climb the waterfall a bit from that side as well works fine. Probably can't get that one until at least level 10, if you are below that, leave it alone until then.

Yeah I know the one that is a bit of a nightmaer to close. I tend to leave that one till late in my playthrough's usually given it does spew out quite high level enemies. But yeah it is a nightmare one to close due to it I think being so high up.

Haha... I'm level 7 I think
. Thanks for the info guys. I'll try those spots when I level up more. Took the buffalo with me and he did some damage but apparently not enough to help me out at this time.

The dreaded river farm rift can be defeated at level 9 or lower, but it takes a lot of prep.Haha... I'm level 7 I think

Using Druffy the Druffalo is a great help, but not strictly necessary. Cass or Blackwall with decent armor, some frost protection, and most of the healing potion allocation can do it too. You only really need to tank the first wave, because ideally you cripple the second wave when it spawns. So your tank can die, as long as the first wave dies with him or her.
You need good ranged DPS characters to make the most of the tank's assistance. No DW rogues, they are too squishy. Fire, electric or spirit element attacks are good. For the second wave, you also need two Dispels, targeting the Despair Demons that spawn on the west shore, close together. If you can take out both of those Despairs before they spawn, the remaining Terrors then become manageable for a Level 9 or lower party. That means a minimum of two mages in the party.
I tried tackling that rift at level 8 on Nightmare, no Trials, no Golden Nug stuff but decent T2 armor nonetheless, lots of Antivan Fire and Regen, no Druffy. The first wave was tough, but the second wave was a cakewalk after purging the two Despairs before they spawn.
