Anyone else feels sure the Inquisitor will be dead before the next game?

I've seen many people saying the quiz will probably make a cameo of sorts in the next game but I haven't seen anyone considering the very likely possibility they will be dead by that time. I mean, they only got a few years left according to Solas right?

I think Solas' remark is pretty ambiguous. Does he mean the mark will eventually kill you with or without your arm? Or that you will eventually die in his planned apocalypse? I'm not sure.

I haven't felt like DA4 will open with the Inquisitor dead. Maybe they'll die over the course of the story, but I don't think it will start that way. I can't speak for others, but I know my Inquisitor's story definitely does not feel done.

He clearly says the the mark is going to kill you, and that the thing he did with your hand will only buy you some extra time!

That's why I felt so utterly miserable after finishing trespasser. I mean godammit she already lost her ****** arm why does she have to die early too?

Yes, Solas says the mark was going to kill you, but then says he is going to save your life. That's why he removed the mark.

The Inquisitor only has a few years left because Solas is going to destroy the world, not because of the mark.

You're right, he does the mark is going to kill you. And that luring you there meant that he could save you, at least for now. I still think it's unclear whether the mark will continue to kill you after the arm is gone or if that's 'cause he's gonna make everything burn in raw chaos. It seems like the mark will kill you even without the arm, but I'm not certain. Solas is a slippery, evasive bastard.

The end of Trespasser was devastating. My Lavellan finally lost her faith, the man she loves is...so many things lol, and now her arm is gone. It was painful and glorious, I was stunned for days.

I'm not sure what is going to happen to her. It wouldn't surprise me if she dies prematurely, though of course I don't wish that.

Yeah, that was my initial impression.

By the time the next game comes around the Inquisitor will have mastered the art of one handed shirt buttoning and advanced spork usage.

They cut off their arm to make it clear they won't be playable, so I think a cameo is more possible than killing them off.

Why do people think the mark will kill you, when Solas specifically says that he brought you there in order to save you? And then the lead writers confirm that he removed the mark... The mark can't kill you when it doesn't exist anymore...

Unless it leaves residual magic mojo through your body or something. I lean more toward agreeing with your interpretation, though I still think it is ambiguous. We'll find out eventually lol.

This. He prevented the mark from killing you, but he's still planning on destroying the world so in his estimation you still don't have long to live.

There's nothing to suggest there is any "residual magic mojo" or anything like that though. You may as well argue you will die because you walked around in the fade, and there was unmentioned "magic mojo" there, or you will die because you time traveled and that caused "magic mojo" etc.

Instead, we have a character specifically state he is going to save you from the mark, and the lead writer later confirming thats exactly what happened.

He says the mark is going to kill you and that he will save you at least for now. That's where the ambiguity comes from. Is suggests inevitability, regardless of what he does to temporarily preserve you. What is this inevitability, exactly? It is an assumption that the mark cannot kill you when it is no longer there.

Again, I lean toward the "for now" indicating death in the coming apocalypse, but I see where the ambiguity comes from. And I'm not going to think I have all the facts, especially when we're dealing with someone like Solas.

Wow! The writers really said that? I feel a lot better now!

When doing the thing with the hand, Solas says "The mark will eventually kill you..." That "will" sealed it for me. At that moment I understood my quiz was doomed regardless.

He should have said "The mark would eventually kill you..".

Also her arm is still glowing after he walks away.

Although in my epilogue my Inquisitor was a Red Jenny with an awesome crossbow arm attachment, all Deus ex style.  Imagine the possibilities...

I finished it last night, I can only imagine how much more devastating it would have been with a Solas romance.  At least my dwarf had Bull there to give her a cuddle at the end.

Btw I keep seeing your avatar around the place, you look so sad.  Now I'm wondering if that shot sums up your feelings at the end of Trespasser.   You need a hug?

Well, our Warden can last for more than 3 games and our Hawke, for more than 2 games.

Why would our Inquisitor be prematurely killed?

He/She got rid of the thing that was killing him/her slowly (the Anchor)...

Ah my avatar! Yes, that's the "...wow...the gods I loved are not worth worshiping" face (but hey at least she's got the vallaslin of "the best of them"). She's having a hard time. Playing a devout Dalish who fell in love with Solas was a kick in the everything. :P I think she needs lots more hugs than I do, lol! But she's tough.

I'm glad you saved the Chargers. Your ending would have been a lot sadder if you didn't.

I'm planning on doing that same thing, a Dalish mage who loves Solas.  Mind you, she might just be a ****** so the ending will be easier on me lol, I won't feel too bad for her.

I love Krem to bits so I couldn't let her die, but I will one day.   I like to do all the things.  Damn you Bioware for making so. many. things.  It's exhausting. -_-

Well they could surprise us and bring them back with unique fighting styles based on their disability and class before the disability but let's be realistic, the chances of that happening are very low due to the amount of work they'd have to do.
