I played the end of Trespasser last night.  Not a good idea at 1am with nothing but thinking to do as I tried to get to sleep.

The question isn't if the Inquisitor will be dead, it's what's the bloody point?  You-know-who seems invincible, and we just risked our necks getting rid of Cory to be confronted with this.  As my dwarf stood looking over the balcony at the end, I thought she may as well just chuck herself over the side.  We're doomed.  We're ALL doomed.   :crying:

The only way I see the Inquisitor being confirmed as dead in DA4 is if DA4 is set after Solas destroys the veil, or whatever he plans to do. Then yes, most, if not all previous characters will be dead.

We're not doomed. We're not giving up on this world without a fight. Besides. For all Solas' wisdom, he lacks foresight. He will fail. WE GOT THIS.

Well that's one helluva way to wipe the slate clean.

Hah!  Okay, okay, you distract him with your Elven womanly wiles while I faceplant him in to the stone.  I'll find a Titan or something, it'll be fine.   :D

It's crazy. The veil...is not the natural state of the world. I mean, I see where he's coming from but...too late buddy. Quit while you're ahead, you'll just make everything worse. Again.

Wow! The writers really said that? I feel a lot better now!

When doing the thing with the hand, Solas says "The mark will eventually kill you..." That "will" sealed it for me. At that moment I understood my quiz was doomed regardless.

He should have said "The mark would eventually kill you..".

Also her arm is still glowing after he walks away.

He's just trying to convince you to be cooperative. In the moment he said those words, they were accurate.

Once there isn't any mark, there's no way for it to kill you.

Guys,

This obscure (and hilarious) version of the scene makes it waaay more clear that he DOES INDEED REMOVE THE GODAMN MARK FOR GOOD.

Why do people think the mark will kill you, when Solas specifically says that he brought you there in order to save you? And then the lead writers confirm that he removed the mark... The mark can't kill you when it doesn't exist anymore...

Yeah, if the Inquisitor has the hand removed, but can still make it move, then I could understand the mark killing them. I mean, if the hand is still able to move under the Inquisitor's will, then the mark should be able to affect the rest of the body... if not, what was the point of having the hand removed in the first place?

I know, I was like 'so you thought the veil was a good idea.  It wasn't.  You thought using Coryphy-****** was a good idea.  It wasn't.  You're 0-2 buddy, maybe you wanna quit while you're not ahead?'

Unless if the amputation leads to gangrene.

Damn that's good.  Punching him was great, especially as my titchy dwarf had to go on her tippy toes to do it, but now I wished I hadn't chatted to him at all so I could've got that.   :D

I think he's gonna fail and some bigger bad may show up. Maybe it'll be something like "oops, my plan for dealing with the unleashed Evanuris turned out to be **** after all."

How delightful would it be if our mighty inquisitor ends up dying of a gangrened stump?

And yet, after all that, seeing his face at the end I just thought 'aw Solas, you need a cuddle?'

Damn, I'm all about the hugs tonight.

My only Inky so far didn't like him but I'm looking forward to being his pal and seeing how it plays out.

I was hoping for Tevinter vs Par Vollen for DA4 but after this....maybe it's Solas, maybe is Titans.  Maybe it's Solas riding on the shoulders of a titan!  *gasps*

Just to be clear, I was under the impression that the Inquisitor had their hand amputated on their own, rather than Solas doing it. Basically as a direct response to Solas' prediction - or just a flatout "f-word", if you will.

At least that is how I took it, having seen the scene only one single time. I loved it.

(but not in the weird way)

I kinda think the Inquisitor will be the brains, and our PC the able body. Because: *spoilers*

At the very end of trespasser, you make a choice with the following explanation above: disband/unite the Inquisition, but search for solas will be more/less accurate.

This only means the Inquisitor WILL have a role in DA4

My guess is that it'll be a similar role to the Warden and Hawke in DA:I. The Inq. might even die depending on your choices. Who knows...

For once, perhaps due to the new Lead Writer, I think they'll give a step foward and be bolder. I think they may actually use the Inquisitor similar to an advisor? As he/she knows so much...

Patrick Weekes has stated that the new protagonist every game is what he likes about Dragon Age, however, with the way Inquisition left off...maybe we might see a duel protagonist type deal? I mean, they're gonna do what they're gonna do, but it is difficult to imagine giving control of my character over to the writers for a (presumed) confrontation with Solas, when the stakes are so personal. Perhaps the Inquisitor will be an adviser, or a boss, something. New lead, new direction.

That would be so cool!

Althought it might present a bit of a problem, since each player has a customised Inq.  :o

Maybe the devs can work out a solution by tying the Inq's appearance to specific quests.

You could customize your Hawke in Inquisition
