Why can't a Custom Shepard have Cool Scars?

However, when I imported him to ME2, the scar did not carry over. Nor was I able to add oone in ME3.
Can anyone explain to me why this is?
I assumed its because Shepard had gotten rebuilrt by Cerberus, but why wouldn't they include it regardless?

I think because they though that having the glowing renegade scars AND the "natural" scars would excessively pollute Shepard's face.
Perhaps. Though i honestly would've liked having my scar anyway. I played a paragon Shepard so it wouldn't exactly affect me.

If it's not enough for you, you can always try HIM:

Lol no thanks.
What's wrong with him? Don't judge a book by its cover, he's got a heart of gold.

I've always thought that it was because the scars got healed when Cerberus put Shepard back together. I was also a bit disappointed, though. My Shep had a badass scar across her face in ME1, too.
But, yeah, there's a mod that puts them back. If OP plays on PC and is willing to go through the installation.

Well then its a shame I played on consoles.I've always thought that it was because the scars got healed when Cerberus put Shepard back together. I was also a bit disappointed, though. My Shep had a badass scar across her face in ME1, too.

Ah, no scars for you, then. Don't know if that makes you feel any better but I haven't added mine, either. I guess I've just learnt to accept that my Shep's face got healed and play along. Shame, though.
