Being that we keep hearing little snippets here and there about these guys, just who exactly do you think they are? Why are they one of the main antagonistic forces? What are their motives? I just wanted to create a thread to see everyone's personal take on what they might be.

On a side note, we heard from an alleged leak that the Khet look something like a crossbreed between the Vorcha and the Collectors. I know a few people on here are amazingly talented artists, and I don't think I've seen anyone's personal artistic interpretation of what they might look like. Anyone interested in putting something together?

There was an earlier rumored leak that mentioned two new species. The names of the species weren't given, but they were described, and the descriptions may line up with the Khet and the Remnant.

First concepts were of two new races. The first one being described as "Arrogant". They were really skinny, almost skeletal. Their bodies vaguely looked like a boney Turian. They had glowing eyes and a neck that frilled up from their chest (once they show it off you'll see how hard it is to describe. Their heads almost remind me of the aliens from Independence Day. The second new race was described as "Ancient, Advanced, and Guardian". They had a similar color scheme to reapers and they looked like classic fantasy/sci-fi golems. Sleek rocky or metallic bodies with bright glowing lines flowing all over them. Some had fragmented pieces and shattered bits floating in place around them.

The second species sounds a lot like the how the Remnant were described, so that first one may be the Khet. The description of the first species also seems like it matches up with the silhouettes of the hostile aliens we saw in the trailer. They did look vaguely Turian, but not quite.

I vaguely remember this too. It isn't from the second reddit leak...maybe your false memory has now created a false memory for me too...

Also, I really hate the name "Khet". It sounds too much like "Geth". Be a little more original, Bioware. And "Remnant"? For some reason I mind this one less, but having anything even remotely two-syllable and starting with an R likewise fits in the unimaginative category.

But I can't complain too much as long as you dont bring the Reapers back. Or Cerberus. Especially Cerberus. Please dont do that.

I liked the name of the "Collectors". The species of the galaxy barely interacted with them, so they just named them by what they DID - collect. It would make sense if the Khet had a similar name, at least until the MW colonists learned what their species name actually was.

It sounds like they might be eezo-based lifeforms, which could be interesting. Or at least that was my take from the description of the glowing lines in their carapace (eezo glows), and the stuff floating around them in the concept art sounds like a manifestation of the mass effect.

I never thought of that, that's an interesting idea - a lifeform that for some reason fundamentally incorporates it into their biology even more so than species that were just environmentally exposed like the Asari.

They would be godlike.

I just want ALIEN-looking aliens, not humanoids with alien heads. Sick to death of them goDAMN IT I just farted!

 

I've also saved the original text from that thread in case it gets taken down too. I can understand wanting to get rid of the Quarians, but what kind of idiot would want to get rid of the Krogan?? If anything, we've had a gutsful of Asari to last a century.

I also remember hearing that the Khet resemble a mix of the vorcha and collectors. Personally I think there should be non-humanoid aliens, having more than just 2 legs and 2 arms. The Rachni and Hanar were a good start but get more creative BioWare!
