I haven't finished the game, but I've been very impressed by the topnotch writing displayed so far.
I think DAI has the best writing and storytelling in all Bioware RPGs. It even feels like a step up from extremely well written previous games such as DAO and ME2.
To be honest I'm pleasantly surprised by this. ME3's quality of writing was shockingly bad, juvenile, inconsistent, plain, and contradictory. I really did not expect DAI to turn out like this. I had not even played DAI until last week because I thought its storytelling would be as bad as ME3.
I especially love all the politics and schemes in DAI since I was disappointed when ME3 skipped whole explanations for the reaper invasion and Shepard's trial because writers felt 'gamers will want to jump right into action' as one of them said in an interview.
Did Bioware hire some new writers for the game? Or did the old writers from DAO and ME2 outdo themselves? I'm very curious. You don't know how much relief I felt when I realized DAI doesn't treat gamers like drooling idiots waiting for some flashy actions to happen on the screen as Bioware did with ME3 and went even further with ME3 DLCs.
