Just started playing ME2 -- there is a fluctuating crackling/popping noise in the first Normandy cutscene (it was not present in the very first cutscene) and in the first Normandy level.  Oddly it went away after I checked my journal, but then came back in the 2nd Normandy cutscene.

ME1 had no problems like this.  My laptop just has onboard audio...I'm not sure how to define it-- the driver is SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC, which I updated via Dell's support site.  There's no options listed under "audio" in the configuration utility except to turn it on or off.

For some reason I can't find the search button on the forum anymore-- sorry if this has been covered already.  Graphics/animations etc all look fine, no stuttering.

Just bumping to say the crackling sounds went away after the intro segment (after the character appearance was finalized). Still kind of weird but...I'll live.
