I just want professional voice actors rather than some star name, who have all too often in the past put in lazy performances. Actors like James Clyde who played the 'Bloody Baron' in The Witcher 3, or Jo Wyatt, Troy Baker, and Courtenay Taylor are all exceptionally talented and versatile voice actors, most of whom have worked with Bioware before.

I can't argue with your logic, that said, I do want some variety, not the same VA again and again in every bloody video game.

James Purefoy

James Purefoy would be great. He was fantastic as Marc Antony in Rome.

If not Mass Effect, someone sign this guy up for a Dragon Age game.

Same.  Let the pro voice actors do it and leave the famous actors to do movies/tv whatever.  Putting enough emotion in just your voice, and only your voice, is an entirely different type of acting and must be incredibly difficult.  So many ppl fail and are mediocre, which is why a great voice actor can become so loved by fans I guess.  So leave it to them, besides, if a famous star was in a Bioware game I'd find it super distracting.

Have one of the brother's from "The Alaskan Bush People" as the protagonist or another key character. A character with a speech impedement would really add some humor value.

Really?... The best option for humor is laughing about someone with a speech impediment?

I'll always enjoy listening to Jo Wyatt and Denise Gough. Laura Bailey would be nice too. As for the guys I have no idea. Liam O'Brien and Travis Willingham would be cool. Mathew Mercer is awesome too.

And performed in a radio adaptation of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? as Deckard.

We've already had 'famous stars' in Mass Effect (TIM, Anderson, Hackett, Aria etc.) What did you think about them?

Bioware has used its star cast very well (except Jessica Chobot I guess, if you can count her as a famous star), so I'm not worried they're gonna cast some big name actor who's going to phone it in.

Not sure for the Male Protagonist. But for the female, I would go with Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, or otherwise known as Major Motoko Kusanagi.

Claudia Black - would be great as companion and not a villain
Laura Bailey - any part

Henriksen sounded pretty lifeless for the most part in the trilogy, and Sheen's voice acting was plain & average. If I didn't know his name, I'd have never assumed in a million years the VA was an A-lister.

Aria was the best of the bunch. Controlled menace, that's what her voice implied. Smooth & menacing.

It goes something like this:

Person 1: you say you're a changed man, yet you still look the same to me. Same stupid hairdo, same stupid speech impediment.

Person 2: I DON'T HAVE A THPEECH IMPHEDIMENTH!!

Person 1: Yeah thure you don'th.

Having said that, I find the lisp adorable on a guy.

The only person I can think of who fits the 'big star' mould in a Mass Effect game is Martin Sheen as TIM.  He was great and I enjoyed his performance, but I wouldn't like someone so famous voicing a much heard character like Shepard or Garrus as it could be immersion breaking.

As for the others they're regular actors who've been on tv and in movies, but aren't A-listers.   I still think that anyone who is too big of a star would distract from the role they were playing.  So if you did have, I don't know....someone from Harry Potter or Morgan Freeman or Liam Neeson like ppl have been saying, I'd find it a bit weird.  Plus seriously, they don't need the work, give someone who is passionate about voice acting the role.

I knew Captain Anderson from tv shows, but not enough to even know his name irl.  He's one of my favourite vocal performances of the entire trilogy.  Love Hackett too, but not someone I consider super famous.  I saw him in an episode of Castle not long ago, I kept willing him to say Shepard....damn his voice is epic.

What about faces?  I for one hope they don't do the face/voice thing they did with Miranda again.  I watched Chuck and she starred in that (Yvonne Strahovski) and it was definitely immersion breaking for a while.   Although now I'm just like 'oh hey Miranda' but still, motion captured faces rarely move in realistic ways, they always look odd to me and take away some of the artistic possibilities from the developers.
