Are you angel or the mods are just being lazy? xD
A bit of both, maybe.
I also have less than 2000 posts to my name. So maybe I manage to creep under the radar with such a low post count? ![]()

I've heard a similar suggestion for Casablanca.
I'm shocked, shocked to find out that there's gambling going on in this thread!

Of course the number of warning points that appear under your name do not include the number of "infractions" incurred on the old boards when like here, someone could disagree with you, report the post, and you get a warning or 3 day ban. Some people got banned for life yet found their way back.... several times. They got reset with the new board.
So people got warnings for posting lines from the games, and posting pictures of their femSheps? Wowzer. The means posting video clips from Mass Effect 2, a BioWare game could be dangerous.

I got a 24 hour ban once for inappropriate language in a post that didn't even use profanity or break any other rule from the ToS. The justification used was that my post was the catalyst for a thread derailment.

I got my first warning point in over six years and almost 7000 posts for posting that video of Stephen Fry in this thread the other day. Given what Fry said in the video beyond the couple of swear words that weren't bleeped I found that deliciously ironic.

May have to do with the words actually being overwritten on the vid itself as a semi-description. Just a guess.

HBO Series: Deadwood
Commander Shepard didn't emote because he/she was a schizoid brick in ME1 and ME2. In ME3 Walters tried to give Shepard some emotion and suddenly some people complained because they lost "their Shepard." Aside from the dream sequences I thought it was much better.
I agree.
The introduction of voice acting has changed the dynamic of the crpg. Players have ALWAYS had less agency with a CRPG than a standard RPG because the computer can't anticipate every possible reaction of the player. But in a standard rpg you have a human "ref" who can react to anything a player does outside their original planned encounter.
Voice acting requires that player further give up agency because the voice comes from a human being and they will project something onto the character they are voicing. We get bad acting when we force the actor to mute the performance so that the player isn't "forced" to have a third party, the actor, project something on to "their" character. To get better voice acting you need to accept that 'your [insert any protagonist] isn't yours alone. it is a collaboration of you, the developer and the voice actor and you the player are not the senior partner in this collaboration.
Video game RPGs seem to be becoming better at telling stories vs being a cathartic experience of becoming what you alone created. If you get joy out of just becoming someone different vs controlling this different person's every aspect then the evolution of cRPGs has been enjoyable. But if you must have total control then this is not the trend you will like.
Yet the ability to control what you become in a rpg is an illusion you never have had total control you have always been confined by rules those set up by the creator of the system be it a computer game, a larp group or tabletop rpg. There have always been rules that constrain you. And even then you have always been contained by your own self imposed limitations and limitations that the GM places. We have always been limited in our agency in the RPG environment and to be honest those constraints are vital. If i could be anything the game lose all enjoyment when i role play an all powerful being who sees all and knows all and can do all and is immune to all other forces in this universe and any others. yeah a character concept with no limits on agency and the single most boring character ever.

It was cool that he used to interact with the fans, but he was a little partisan with the wielding of the banhammer in any thread that got remotely political.
