That aside from the enormous hypocrisy with having a problem with words but being totally ok with gory violence.

What makes the freedom to express an opinion more important than the freedom to express disagreement with the same opinion?
Believe me, I disagree a LOT on these forums.
But there's a difference between disagreement and shouting down/ridiculing someone.
Would you still be in favour of a toggle if other features suffered due to lack of polishing, or if the game couldn't be tested as thouroughly?
ME3 needed a lot of polishing, and it had no toggle..
And yet, it seems to have not stopped any here from playing....
pot meet kettle
If such a toggle just put a *bleep* over the offending words it seems like it wouldn't be crazy expensive.
Possibly it wouldn't be expensive (according to at least one Bioware developer, that's debatable), but is presentation worth anything at all?
I can't imagine bleeps being used for anything other than comedic effect, like in South Park. I definitely think they'd sound ridiculous in any other context, emphatically including the sort of game that Bioware tends to make.
^Believe it or not, I actually think South Park is funnier with the filter thrown in. I have no idea why, but i just end up laughing more.

Right. It's an appropriate and effective use of such a thing.
Play the bleeps over a few Bioware examples. Does the line retain its original character? Or does it just sound stupid?
"What can one grey warden do? Save the *bleep* world, if put to it."
"Nobody *bleep* with Aria."
"And for what? Your *bleep* legacy?"
Yeah - that right there is reason enough to not even consider such a measure, if you ask me.

Except you would not be utilizg the option. However, I would, and it would still be better than the current usage, IMO.
Still waiting for a response on whether you want reporting for violating the TOS, like you report so many others for exactly the same thing. You wouldn't want to be hypocritical now, would you?

True enough. But like I said, it's something I am opposed to adding on principle alone. I don't think it's the sort of compromise that should be made, full stop, particularly when there are better ways of making such content *mostly* avoidable.
If I were actually a Bioware developer who wrote or animated this stuff, I'd feel more strongly about it.
You know I don't know what I find more disturbing. The fact that people are taking offense over the use of "salty language", some nudity in love scenes, or that no one takes any offense that we routinely obliterate the equivalent of small cities with our characters during the course of a game.
As I said before, would love to be able to use non-lethal means in combat.

At least with gore there is a toggle to deactivate it.

Can't watch it at this moment, unfortunately - but I'm guessing it's tongue in cheek because Borderlands, which kind of goes hand in hand with what I was saying, doesn't it?
I'm quite open to the possibility that I'm wrong, though. I can watch it later.
EDIT to add that nevermind I watched it and yeah - it seems to me like it's a tool deliberately used for comedic effect and (in line with one of my longstanding positions) in the aim of providing characterization for talking trashcan thing (just like a penchant for idiosyncratic cursing and blasphemy might).
That's really not equivalent to taking a bleeping (double meaning, natch) sledgehammer to all existing, potentially offensive words across the board. Which would, again, be a disaster.
First, you are on Ignore, so getting to every request takes more time. Second, I edited the post; might wish to do the same since you copied it. Toodles!
Do you ignore everyone who makes valid points against your point of view?
Probably had to do more with your hostility and personal attacks rather than your point of view, if I had to guess.

I'm fine about not editing, rather leave it as it is.

The bleeps in that though are written with the bleeps in mind. They aren't censored because people might offended by it. It's done purely for humours sake. You can't really use that as an example of where it works, because it's not actually the same thing.
Absolutely, I think that's more than fair. Some options may not be feasible, but I think anyone should be able to give feedback and requests as long as they're respectful about it, which Elhanan I must say has been.I do not think a swear toggle is feasible.
But that said Elhanan or anyone else who would like to advocate for it, propose an alternative, or express an opinion should be allowed to do so without ridicule.
Precisely.ME3 needed a lot of polishing, and it had no toggle..
I definitely think it would be distracting, and detract from the ambiance of scenes.Possibly it wouldn't be expensive (according to at least one Bioware developer, that's debatable), but is presentation worth anything at all?

If I see you make one, may let you know....

The same thing can be said of swearing and profanity.
How very passive aggressive of you.
