During the horizon misson when you encounter the 1st praetorin when EDI
says " Power 100% I have control" You get another game breaking crash
that halts your progress into the game. Its right after EDI finishes that line help .

I am seeing this same, exact behavior. Have not been able to successfully try the workaround mentioned in this other post:

http://social.biowar...x/814785#814785

as I can't get the monster's (praetorin?) health down fast enough.

Every time the game crashes, I get kicked back to the desktop with the typical "program has stopped responding, looking up possible causes" dialog. Additionally, each time the crash occurs, a new DMP file (approximately 64 kilobytes) is written to my user profile folder.

PATH: C:\\Users\\u\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\BIOGame\\Logs

FILE: unreal-v3607-2010.02.04-20.51.21.dmp

Does Bioware want dump files uploaded for analysis?

Same thing happens to me: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/106/index/967266

No solution yet. I'm gonna try what was suggested in that other thread ("stay far away from it"); dunno if I'd be able to kill it "fast enough" because I suck pretty bad but maybe if I dump all of my heavy weapon ammo into it.

Well, with very careful planning I finally got past this sequence. As soon as it fired it's big gun, I ran as far as I could manage before the praetorin's gun cycled to fire again. Stayed on once side to lure it and then ran to the next corner, counterclockwise. Prioritizing on keeping distance, then opening up as much of the heavy weaponry that I could helped me get past this section of the game to avoid the consistent crash.

Hmm... hard to describe distances here, but on my monitor I never let it get big enough onscreen (closer, if you follow my meaning) than the space that would be taken up by a dollar bill folded in half, were it pressed against the monitor to cover the praetorin monster. Hope that helps.
