I know people out there will say graphics doesn't matter, trust me it does. I used to think like that as well. When a game is more pleasant to look at, it can improve your experience a lot.

p.s.

Whoever tells you: "Doing great graphics means neglecting attention to story and stuff's quality", is a liar. Don't buy that crap, we're in 2016 now.

Graphics really don't matter to me. Battlefront was probably the nicest looking and also biggest disappointment of 2015.

That said, I'm sure it'll look pretty enough.

Graphics matter to me...to a point. Once they reach a certain threshold (i.e. people don't look like potatoes and clothing textures don't appear to all be rubber or super-pixelated) I stop caring how pretty they are. Mass Effect with the MEUITM mod is a perfect example of what I mean. The textures aren't perfect but they look at least somewhat believable, and that's plenty good enough for me.

But I also think that devs ultimately put too much effort into graphics. Generally speaking, mod teams can make great looking textures if they have the tools to do so. Good gameplay, on the other hand? That really depends on the people making the game itself, and if they don't focus on that, the game will never be good, no matter how pretty it is.

I wouldn't have an issue playing a game with ME2 graphics, they weren't too shabby. I do enjoy good graphics but sometimes my PC struggles and I can't upgrade yet xD I hate it when you see screenshots of games and they look amazing and then reality hits you in the face with medium settings

Mass Effect: Andromeda at 60 fps would be great on consoles, but I doubt it will happen.

MGS5 proves it can happen though...

So you also want reused assets and only two maps, too.

I think it's a matter of taste. I think DAI is absolutely gorgeous. Probably the prettiest game I've played so far. But that's me and my personal tastes. All that said, it sure is killing my laptop. Then again, given my setup, I'm surprised I can run it on such high settings.

Environments look quite nice and are good quality. Can't say same with character quality and lot of textures. And I'd appreciate if you could play the game on low quality without losing character creator options like scars or having to deal with bugs like shiny hair and beards that look they are made by Paint.

If they can make more and better hair and less elven noodle arms this time around, we should be mostly fine.

I must admit I haven't played the game on lower than ultra settings myself, just with some settings slightly lowered here and there, and I'm pretty happy with it. I understand what you mean now, though. I had no idea that the character creator gets culled if you play on low settings. It'd be for the best if, in case the settings are lowered, the environments suffered first and the characters last. And, now that you mention it, yeah, the stubbles are ugly. Which is funny because Cullen's looks perfectly fine. (Probably because it's part of his face texture already.)

Also, seconding the person above. Please, no noodle arms... or noodle legs... or noodle bodies...

better options for hair styles.  Probably better textures too.  Bioware games don't do hair very well.

BW does short hair well enough, long hair is the issue

Eh, MGSV is decent looking game, but it's also very flat. Nothing pops or stands out, they're no beautiful sunrises, breathtaking vistas or moments when you just want to stop and soak in the visuals. Not to mention the lighting is extremely lackluster, it really feels like the game just tints the screen a different colour and increase the contrast a bit.

I'm not at all worried about MEA on the graphics front. I do hope it's as polished as Battlefront though. The game is shallower than a frisbee but damn is it purdy. I'm hoping that those annoying clipping issues are less apparent. It happens too often in Inquisition, despite the models that are fixed, like Blackwall's beard, and even some characters' necks coming through their collars, like Vivi's casual attire.

It could look like ME 1 and have a small list of things I'd enjoy and no crafting system and I'd rate it as a good step in the right direction.

Same here tbh but I think it's safe to say with the Frostbite engine and the quality of graphics it's capable of putting out they'd be fools not to take advantage of it. Especially as they've already done so to an extent with DAI

Well I think in DAI's case we can forgive them a little bit because it was  a new engine at the time so perhaps weren't sure how to quite get the most out of it but now with the xperience DAI has given them and  shackles  being removed(i.e no last gen systems to worry about only humans in the CC as we'er playing human) it should help them in upping the quality in other areas. This will hopefully lead to a higher quality game where they can focus more on getting things right. In general terms they didn't do a bad job with DAI i don't think and for the most part for me it's a solid game. But this is one area where i think we all agree they did lack.

I can't really excuse the poor hair options on the teething pains of the new engine. A lot of that hair just looked bad. I don't care if it doesn't billow in the wind, but it'd be nice if it wasn't swarming with buzz cuts.

I guess people want long hair? The thing with long hair is it's not very practical and I think they ban long hair in the army.

I'm not excusing it too much as I'd of preffered a better selection too but i can understand it given it being a new engine and having to work with the old gen systems as well as the new ones was bound to cause a few problems that's all I'm really saying the hair obviously ended up being one of them that suffereed for it. But seeing as most of these issues don't apply to MEA hopefully they shouldn't happen again.

Army rules don't neccessarily apply to this  sort of scenario anyway as it's scifi/fantasy style series so that's open for debate really. Personally I think if there's a couple of longer haired options similar to what Ashley and Miranda have then added to the game then I think that would satisfy most people. I think Bioware can do it as they showed that in DA2 as I think there's a couple of nice looking options there but aside from that they've sadly been lacking at least for the player character anyway.

Quite simple really. You have a console version, then release the PC version with something called 'settings' that allows you to crank it up from that baseline. The assets etc will all be there, so it's not extra work.
Failing that EA allow mods and lets people do it themselves (oh I do amuse myself sometimes with my posting).

Please these graphics are so shitty. Could run on 2008 tech. Crisis still has better graphics

I am not at all worried about the graphics.  The ME games always had good graphics for their respective time periods and I would argue that they still hold up even by today's standards.  ME 1 even still looks pretty decent.  Besides I have always felt that any game with good art direction can make up for what it may lack graphically.  Good clever art design can make a game look decent for a long time.

True I know some people have done hair mods for DAI including longer hair options which has helped make DAI in general a better package. Kadust in particular has made some very nice ones.
