Hey, is that actually a fair screenshot? I'm only familiar with the game from when we were making fun of the rain scene a few weeks back.

Hey, is that actually a fair screenshot?

Yeah, pretty much.  I remember the floor and the lighting being a bit better, but I don't know where this screenshot is from.

Sorry, Minecraft?

It's hard to discern with graphics that bad.

The Fox Engine has good graphics but its real strength is its ability to maintain good performance with strong graphics. MGSV looks like that running at a consistent 60 FPS even with crap exploding all around you running on horseback.

Well, there's the engine, and there's Kojima, who won't let anything fall bellow a certain standard he sets and all.

Love or hate what he does, the man is as close to a perfectionist as the industry has, I guess.

Which has it's downsides; unless we're prepared to have development cycles of, like, 8 years for each new Mass Effect.

Frostbite is one of the best looking engines on the market. I'm not worried about graphics.

It looks quite a bit worse in the screenshot than it actually does running on my PC.

The game itself looks pretty good, but that screenshot looks like it's got worse visuals than Mass Effect 2. It's almost like they're running the game on the lowest settings for some reason.

it's tailored to giving good graphics and for the most part more tailored to shooters than hack and slashers like DAI so yeah I'm not too worried about it either. Especially given they managed pretty well to adapting it to a hack and slasher like Dragon Age.

I disagree with you. MGS5 has the best gameplay out of the whole series and you can't deny that. There are many ways to approach  missions and bosses. Check this out,  Quiet was too fast for me so I dropped a supply crate on her head...One time after I rescued one of my soldiers, I chose to drive around Afghanistan  while I played Kids in America out loud in my speakers. Those fakin Russians didn't like that. Some people say the missions get repetitive but that's only the side ops. Story is subjective. Also, running your own base is fun. I heard a fight broke out so I when I went back I found the trouble makers and you know what I told them?

That is fair. I can respect that. For me original MGS(when it comes to all) and MGS 3(story) are ones I liked most. MGS 5 always will be lacking, considering it is supposed to be "last game" and this case isn't helping:

Anyway back to topic. Enough of 'MGS 5 :PP', case is clear that you like it and I don't so much at least so no point at bickering like dogs at each other because none of us will change opinion of another. So let's drop the MGS 5 topic and get back on graphics part. For graphics I don't worry one bit. We saw DA:I and if you can run it on ultra it is beautiful as hell, ME:A will have even more perfected graphics(now that BW got taste of 'Frostbite 3' engine properly). I mean just look at 'SW:Battlefront', while being disappoint as game....when it comes to graphics I dare saying it is best looking game out there in that aspect. And ME:A is supposed to get same treatment regarding that. So as I said graphics part has been cleared already, that was point of my first "comedian" reply.

^Now this is what I would prefer of BW to do that 'MGS 5' did instead! To do optimization of game right! If I'm going to buy for PC....then make game so it is playable on damn PC....not making me return game and buy it for PS4 in order to play it because PC port was horribad(-coughs- DA:I the day 1 -coughs-).

I hope Bioware and EA take notes from Fallout 4 and optimise the game properly. I like Fallout4 but it's kind of a joke at the same time, it didn't support sli when it first came out, the frame rate was locked, objects were stuttering, it butchers your cpu, you had to bring out a note pad just to turn off  mouse acceleration. There are so many problems with the game.

Just a thought - ME:A will be running on the same engine as SW: Battlefront

The engine can certainly cope with Battlefront ... even if you start with lunacy like the Toddyhancer mod (if it's ever finished):

http://www.pcgamer.c...k-like-a-movie/

There's no reason ME:A shouldn't look great.

It's okay to have have standards you know?  Don't always accept what is given to you, ask for more.

yeah, i would ask for more than this average (if at all) crap in your MGS5 screenshot (reminds me of 2012 GRFS btw) for ME:A. and since ME:A is using the Frostbite3 (which is a really powerful engine) i dont worry about its graphics, i´m more concerned about story and gameplay.

Exactly! Fallout 4 optimization...just with less bugs xD

How graphics work for me.

First 2 minutes wow the graphics are amazing/suck. Minute 3 I no longer notice them. Maybe because I'm from the text game era but once I'm immersed in the game all games have great graphics even zork.

Still this is a better thread than love interests etc.

Well I think in DAI's case we can forgive them a little bit because it was  a new engine at the time so perhaps weren't sure how to quite get the most out of it but now with the xperience DAI has given them and  shackles  being removed(i.e no last gen systems to worry about only humans in the CC as we'er playing human) it should help them in upping the quality in other areas. This will hopefully lead to a higher quality game where they can focus more on getting things right. In general terms they didn't do a bad job with DAI i don't think and for the most part for me it's a solid game. But this is one area where i think we all agree they did lack.

I'm just trying to interpret.  I don't get hung up on stuff like that since I'm rockin short hair and a helmet most of the time anyway.

Since their going full  next gen and not cross gen like they did in DAI. I am sure the graphics will be stunning!

For all the people saying "Frostbite", while the engine may be capable of handling good graphics and not murder most PCs and have a nice lightning engine

Stuff like polygon count and texture resolution are on the developer to actually make  good. Simply having a good engine doesn't automatically mean it's going to look good.

What Cyonan said. A good graphics engine doesn't mean your art department suddenly gets better. DAI has its share of awkward animations despite Frostbite. Two words: noodle arms.

It's a good starting point though. DAO's Eclipse made dark skin look blotchy and/or purple for example. Frostbite is capable of great things, of course it's up to Bioware to make good use of that potential. I think DAI's environments looked great, so I'm confident MEA will deliver on that front. Animation and character models are another matter.
