Most of the multiplayer for ME:A will be kept back for the next generation of consoles.  You have a few guns, characters, and maps, but once PS5 and XB2 hit they will release the rest of the game for those systems.  You don't get them on current peasant boxes. See Dragon Age Inquisition.

They won't tell you this or admit it...might even lie to you, but this is the case.  If you want the full MP experience for ME:A wait for the PS5 to drop.  Keep this info in mind.

So they're gonna release an unfinished game in about a year, then release the rest of it in 5 years when the new Playstation comes out.

Seems legit.

I'd say they did a pretty decent job with what is essentially a tacked on horde mode.

More game modes and a greater depth of kit customization would make a lot of people happy.

Yeah.

It'll have around 8 characters, 3 maps, and 3 factions.  Of course RNG.

Oh, and a huge, obvious, game breaking bug (like the infamous DAIMP key drop glitch) that somehow the devs, testers, beta-testers, non-paid testers, non-paid beta testers, etc all seem to miss....

Then, after much finger pointing and even more denial, takes months and months to fix...

I will buy ME:A, it will be used and not on release day though.

I am very interested in seeing what kind of problems the game releases with and how it all goes as well as the forum situation.  I learned a lot from DAMP and all of the things that happened with that game.  I know this place with get real entertaining real fast come release day.

Playable Rachni, Hanar, and Elcor please.

I'm tired of everyone being just humans or humans in rubber suits, and if the SP is going to remain firmly human centric, I would at least like the opportunity to play as one of the 'alien' aliens; complete with their own unique gameplay mechanics, as well as weapons and armor choices.

Yes I LOVE THIS! Cut out single player entirely, making it more like Battlefront. Also put everything on a RNG system and add more micro-transactions; make it so that the only way to obtain an elite piece of gear the player would had to spend 50 bucks or more in micro-transactions. How awesome would that be!!

Yes, and hopefully the experience will not be the same as with DAIMP.

By that I mean the obvious, and I mean really obvious, MP bugs that are there at launch, and then not addressed at all for months; as the player base dwindles, and dwindles, and dwindles......

I still find it hard to believe that the DAMP team and the MEMP team were the same. Mass Effect's multiplayer is miles ahead of what Dragon Age's multiplayer did.

I don't. ME3 still has tons of bugs, and when "working as intended" problems are taken out of the equation, Dragon Age's MP is about as fun as the rest of the combat in that series (i.e. not fun at all). You can polish a turd, but it is still a turd. Actually fighting in those games has never been the appeal of them, and Biower Montreal wasn't going to change that (although they did somehow make the trollstore worse).

By contrast ME3's fun combat is the aspect that probably saved it from being a disaster, and adding some of the alien species and their unique characteristics in the multiplayer simply improved upon that strength.

You do have a point, but I was thinking more about the lack of support and content for DAMP vs. MEMP and the design decisions.

Being unable to select the faction you are fighting. Six months for a "fire map" re-skin, and some animals to fight, then even longer until we got new kits to play with and an actual new map, etc.

Agreed.

The new engine probably explains much. But that's just programming tactics; I'm more concerned about the strategic vision, like long term viability. (DEV interaction from the start, not the months of "crickets" like in DAIMP, in order to address the inevitable bugs.)

Hopefully the team is more adept (hah!) with Frostbite now, and their masters allocate sufficient resource to support and fix on an ongoing basis.

MP is a fun side benefit for me, not one of the game's selling points, so I don't care about it too much. Assuming that it will be mostly or all co-op, I would say that I'd like to see more variety in the types of missions and environmental hazards than in ME3 - maybe a hostage rescue scenario, or something with a little more of a narrative to it where the players vote on a final choice or something like that.

I'd like to play as a Rachni.

All the colourful language I'd use while playing...

The alliance version of this↓ would also be fun.

Oh. And these treasures I came up with many moons ago...

Pyjak S'hit Flinger
- Fling S'hit: Acts in a similar manner to biotic orbs/seeker swarms/etc adding 4 Filth Bombs, debuffs enemies movement/vision/morale
- Chattering Insult: Acts as an AoE Taunt.
- Why Won't You Die? 100% chance to dodge all incoming attacks for 10 seconds 30 second CD.

Light melee: Stealth
Holding Heavy Melee: allows wallwalk like an Alien in AvP.

S'hitty Passives (no one specs down this)
Paranoid Fitness (Lots of movement speed bonuses, little to no health. Rabid Melee attack option near end ranks)

***

Rachni Tentacle Groper
- Grope: Enemy is held fast and unable to move/attack/anything but make moaning sounds for 15 seconds
- Heavy Petting: multiple enemies are slowed and do not attack for 5 seconds.
- Auto-erotic Asphyxiation: A single enemy is choked to 1 HP over 3 seconds.

Light Melee Tentacle Slap: extremely fast light damage
Backhand Tentacle: High damage slow attack, knockback, demoralizes enemy.

Passives and Fitness would both be really good with some sort of passive health regen cause Rachni are pretty awesome like that.

Didn't you get enough from the thread about the music choice in the teaser trailer?  Or about moving to a whole new galaxy and "how" you get there?  I'm sure characters will be announced soon and then the romance and PC threads will start.  Your fries will be fine.
