I love how this thread turned out.
Truth be told I fancy myself In Exile but it shall remain unrequited forever. Worry, worry, worry woe is me.

As personality goes, the best FF male protagonist is Zidan (or Gidan) from FF9.
But I'm not anymore a great fan of anime pretty boys. I'm looking forward to the more manly guys in FFXV.
Spoiler
Otherwise, I think many girls would be attracted by male characters that have more various and interesting personalities than only by the good look. (Garrus's success with the ladyes teach this, and even Solas can be put in this category).
I personally would dig more a elegant, less muscled, more intellectual type of guy than another Jimmy Vega type of male LI.
I kind of like the personalities of the characters in FF though, yeah Squall and Cloud are certainly the handsome archetype and all that but it's kind of inter-woven with their personalities, like.. an appealing aesthetic presence. also like Edgar, Sabin, and Locke from FF6.
Oh and here's Zidane also! I kind of was trying to find the concept art but the internet is hiding it for some reason now.
They should make a soap opera about the BSN.
i'd watch it, it could replace my cutthroat kitchen binges
I kind of like the personalities of the characters in FF though, yeah Squall and Cloud and stuff are attractive but they're personalities are all right too, also like Edgar, Sabin, and Locke from FF6.
I had crush on Locke when I was kid even though he was just pixels.. I mean literally:

Pixels..

I found a fan-art that seemed like what modern Locke with more art assets than a 8 MG cartridge might have, looks pretty good!
"It's TREASURE HUNTER!"

I sadly never picked himEric all the way for Shining Force II
stop making me miss all the classic games omg
**** that mission. Just **** it. All over. And under. Twice.
I finally finished it after way too much effort. Did as you said and switched squadmates, still got massacred by bloody hovering tripods like but still, got there in the end. By the last room, every time I blew up a junction conduit either Garrus or Kaidan would die from the blast, popping back up again a second later to just die again when I blew up the next one. Fun times.
However this is the first time I did Luna knowing what I now know about EDI. Her cries for help at the end....dammit. Glados was right, I AM a monster.
Aw, I'm sorry. Yeah, those bastards can take out a Soldier in heavy armour with one hit if they get lucky. The squad AI doesn't help, either. Sometimes they refuse to stay where you tell them to or they peek out of cover at totally inappropriate times. It's still always better to micromanage them. Like, to turn the AI completely off or keep it just for defences. But maybe you're already doing that, sorry. I totally forgot that Tali has the AI hacking which could be helpful, bleh. But, anyway. Hey, you did pull it off!
About Alenko and Vakarian... What the hell?
I've never seen that happen. I guess doing that mission did some horrible things to their morale. They just wanted to die at that point.
And, yeah, doing the mission when you know about EDI already makes it so much sadder.

Character wise, I liked of course Squall and Cloud too (l'm very curious about the ffvii remake) Zidane is simply my preferred FF protagonist. I Always felt he was the only protagonist that felt like a leader. And made me laught a lot, a Point in his favour, in my book.
I still have to play FFvi. One day I'll have to play it.
Aestetically wise, I've lost some interest in the Classic "pretty anime boy", but I would be more than happy to have a good looking asian male character ![]()
Hey, if is a good looking guy, is a good looking guy - I can care less of the nationality! And if he is an interesting character with some personality, well, I don't care about how he look.
But a character that is not just the Classic muscled guy would be great.

Wrex is pretty helpful on Luna. Immunity and Barrier make him survive for at least a few seconds. Tali's hacking didn't work that well when I tried it, but it might still be the best alternative though.
I usually let my teammates get hit first while I hide behind them. I'm a great commander.

Tali would've been helpful....woops. Well my Shep's pissed her off already so he probably wouldn't have asked for her help anyways. She won't even chat to him anymore ![]()
It was really funny, Kaidan would make dying noises and fall to the ground, then pop up a second later saying something like 'negative contacts commander' only to die again straight away as I blew up another junction. It was like a dance, I had too much fun....especially when Garrus joined in. ![]()

Pffft not this time. Wrex just stood there in a clear open corridor and refuse to move up saying he was blocked. No you're not. You're not blocked Wrex, the bloody corridor IS WIDE OPEN! He's doing that a lot in tight spaces and it's starting to hack me off. ![]()
Yeah in the end I sent them ahead, ran back down the corridor and peaked round the corner sniping the tripods. They were dead on the floor while I played peek-a-boo.....I'm so brave.
Well my former coworker explained with no sarcasm that more money meant they were a better person.(she read Ann rand)
Or on a less individual note I expect there are just as many shallow women as men. And for every man who is only concerned with appearances there is a woman equally shallow but with a decent number focusing on wealth instead of appearance.
But maybe I say this as I am that shallow and hope to see in others what I see in myself.
* delurk *
Hahaha. I know a lot who'd say the same as your coworker, whether my friends or even my sister lol. To be honest, I'd say that women liking money/wealth is quite true, as much as I would agree with a woman telling me that men are more shallow than them with appeareances overall.
( your point I suppose ? ) Of course we are all individual, different, not everyone is the same, blah blah blah, but let's not fool ourselves either over a few things. XD
At least once women have more than 28 years, meaning they are thinking about their future, including having children, yeah, social statut, and so money, a guy having a good job is quite seen as a very nice value, and good news for those who are ugly, regardless of your appearance.
So if you are not attractive, but you have money, or are a boss of a big compagny, or and have a nice personality, you have big chances lmao.
When you ask several women that are more than 27 years what they'd like about a guy in a serious relationship, social statut is quite mentioned a lot. When you ask men, social statut is way less seen as important, sometime not even mentioned at all. A guy who is quite attractive, but is unemployed might be more negatively perceived than someone who is not really attractive but is a great doctor for example. That is less likely with men, wealth and the job don't affect that much the mind, so the will to engage with someone. Again, we are all indiviual, but this is something that happens more in one side than the other / gender.
Now, about the appearance itself, yes women are much less narrow and shallow than men overall, even if there are of course many of them very shallow as well. I can pretty tell from life experience that you can be ugly as ****, and still easily date beautiful women, if you have the personality. They just have to know you if you don't attract eyes. Being attractive is not necessarily needed for many of them. More difficult with men. ( again we are all individual and it's not the same for everyone, each has his own experience blah blah blah, yeah I know. )
I answered seriously but I am half joking lol.
They should make a soap opera about the BSN.
It's actually the perfect soap opera pitch, because they could turn absolutely, literally any situation into high drama.
Seriously, who doesn't like money/wealth? It surely isn't on the very top of my list but being able to put money into savings and to live a comfortable life without worrying every month if I'll make it to the end is nice.

Money!? Where!?
(i'm gonna use this gif for everything xD)
So abs are good, but if I entertain the nature of Bunz speculation here, regarding what kind of attractions would appeal to me as a woman, on a fanservice level. I think more of this:

and this:

and this:

In all of these cases, it's at least as much about charisma as it is about good looks. Especially when it comes to Benedict. He's got a weird looking otter face, but I'd still be more likely to watch a movie because he's in it.

Luna mission? Spectre assault rifle, frictionless materials X2, sledgehammer rounds.
Piece of ******.
Don't have any of those things.....
It may be a piece of ****** to you poppet, but some of us are terrible at video games.
