I don't mind things that female gamers want as long as it doesn't interfere with my enjoyment of the game, I am a normal reasonable person that way, I don't care about strangers enjoying the game as much as I do.

 

If the devs change the game for females and think the cost of how much it affects male enjoyment will gain them a larger customer base then that's just something I need to deal with, makes sense.

 

What I don't like is the sense of entitlement some people have in regards to things like this, as if they are owed these things.

 

what does "change the game for females" even mean? What are the needs and wants of those illusive females? Do they all want the same stuff? Do all the males want different stuff then? Is the "male enjoyment" like the Geth consensus? So many questions

Sorry, but I'm a straight guy, I just sit there and pretend to listen while all of these middle aged women drone on about how they went to the male strip clubs.  I suppose its a lot like how the females used to listen to me drone on about the same thing (but female strippers) when I was younger.   Different strokes and all.  One of the only things that leaped out at me was the name Hammer though.

Nono, you're definitely not banished.  For my money, scifi goes either SW or ME first, I can talk endlessly about both, but I think ME is the one that I could talk about for days and days and days.

 

Then skip about 4 slots then Star Trek.

Uh, half of my female guildies in WoW had to be forced to actually open their mike. Especially annoying when they were tanks (main or twink raids) or some other important role and you depended on them saying stuff. OTOH our heal goddess had to be forced to shut up.

Have you checked out the Expanse? You might dig it if you liked Battlestar Galactica. It kind of has a similar vibe.

 

Five episodes in and I think it's the best series Syfy has done, and the best Sci Fi TV series of the last 10 years or so.
