What troll thread? Retaliation kits for the most part are inferior to previous kits. Who can prove me wrong?

Valkyrie proves you wrong.

While I'm unsure (and too lazy to look up), if the Valkryie was in that expansion then it can't be the worst expansion, because .. Valkryie.

I find the Shaman very hard to play.

The Quarksman a little less hard to play.

Saboteur is tricky, but I've seen people destroy stuff with him, very nice melee character when played right.

And Volus merc is my uber Volus. One of my most frequent kits.

I would brand retaliation kits a little bit more skill intensive than others.

Shaman is dirt easy if you go the Barrier Bomb way. Unless you're up against an Atlas or something of that caliber you basically just run around spamming one power (which you can actually do while running) and shooting your gun (I recommend something light like the Acolyte). Mooks get thrown around and die, bosses get Warp in the face... and that's it. It's one of the easiest kits to play in my opinion.

Quarksman plays similiar to the Turian Soldier. Skip Sabotage completely, use Marksman as often as possible and get some extra damage on bosses by using Tac Scan. I basically spend 80% of the time in RHA, shooting my gun and hitting MM as often as possible. Advantage over Turian: You can dodge.

Saboteur is one kit I always meant to play (I think I even got a spec and weapons selected) but then just didn't because something else seemed like more fun. ^^

I'm not a fan of the Volus... probably because I got the Adept first and it wasn't any good compared to the other adepts. After that I avoided the tiny balls with asthma.

I more or less keep a dozen kits in reserve for the moment when the game starts to bore me and I need something new. So yeah, maybe I'll play Saboteur or Volus Merc then. ^^

Valkyrie proves you wrong.

You could replace "Valkyrie" here with about 90% of the other kits that were on Retaliation and the sentence would still work. Thread would be less silly if he had picked a DLC that did NOT include some of the best/most fun kits in the entire game.

^  Well why don't you name these space magical kits you speak of like I did? That's what the thread is for. Along with some science chit chat is some want to go that route.

All of them besides the jetpack Turians and the Quarian soldier?

EDIT - anyway. I might discus my thoughts on the Fury/Valkyrie debate when I come back. But first some pug games.

I'm actually also fond of both batarian biotics. Slasher can dish out a lot of damage, and Brawler is very hard to kill if specced right.

Ok, then, Retaliation kits...well, its 16 characters contain 2 of my top 5 faves (Huntress, BatSlash) and a bunch of my lesser/'more general' faves (GT, DAI, Valkyrie) -- also every Volus (I like the Engi and have fun with PPR-Adept) and the Jetpack Turians (the Havoc being the only one I don't enjoy occasionally).

It also gave us the Collector weapons, for which I am definitely thankful. Phasic ammo for snipers and Drill Rounds for wallhaX help to outweigh the abomination that is Explosive Ammo.

And even tho I play on PeaEssThree, which can flake out under Collectors, I still regularly cue them up when I feel like flexing my ME3 muscles.

In all, I'd say that I'd sure rather have Retaliation than not...computes to an overall win for me, even with its lesser qualities (did I mention Explosive Ammo?). With the Huntress, BatSlash and CSMG alone I'd be a fan...

They are simply not my thing I suppose. I have witnessed all of them played awesomely by others.

And the little merc ball of asthma, I use to think it was the most stupid and unnecessary kit in the game. Now it's one of my scariest kits.

Nope. Valkyrie gets Warp. I'll trade a bit of speed and cooldowns for one of the best debuffs in the game. Plus you've got adrenaline and efficiency modules if you really can't handle it. That's also why the Slasher is automatically awesome.

You're still plenty quick with movement speed in AF, and just as scary as the Fury up close thanks to Tech Armor.

Also sounds like L2Troll case.

Really Sinful, this is getting sad and pathetic. I don't expect to get through that thick skull of yours... nobody before seems to have. But hey, I can at least say I tried.

I think they make sense on the Havoc: ersatz vanguard that he is, he does benefit from having a way of restoring his shields in a pinch.

They make less sense on the TGI; they don't strike me as being very infiltrator-y. I think he should have had sticky grenades instead.

He's the AR infiltrator, stickies benefit mainly from hard hitting guns which all ARs except possibly the Saber are not though.

Stim packs can be used as a short term damage boost to be used a bit tactically at the right time instead of playing recklessly.

And don't listen to anything SF writes, it's just 100% confused nonsense and feeble trolling attempts.
