DA:I is apparently pretty great, Origin has gotten a lot better, gave me Jade Empire for free, many of SWTOR's recent changes made the game far less user unfriendly. That's all I can think of.

I don't even know where to start. They buried several companies, they ruined a lot of beloved gaming franchises like: Medal of Honor, Need for Speed, Sim City, Dead Space, KOTOR, Battlefield, Command & Conquer now Battlefront bites the dust as well, while Mass Effect and Dragon Age also suffered from it to some extent.
And even if they sometimes come up with something nice or decent it still doesn't make up for all the screw-ups they did.
EA is the definition of everything what's wrong with gaming.

To be fair, it's not like series such as Battlefront or Sim City were all that lively before the most recent iterations that messed them up.
EA just revived what was already dead to make money on branding.

And yet they are at the top part of the pyramid as far as the video game industry is concerned. that makes no sense though because if they were as terrible as everyone makes them out to be then clearly they wouldn't be able to stay so profitable....

I suspect that it's not tight budgets or schedules (EA's end) which leads to the polished turds in their catalogue; it's poor internal management (studio side) as their enormous corporate structure makes direct oversight of autonomous studios next to impossible.
EA have given BioWare four years and millions of dollars to get Mass Effect: Andromeda right. If it fails it fails because BioWare did not address glaring problems with their games which have been apparent for years. Blaming EA is like blaming your parents for your own failings.
ME3 failed because of creator hubris. Casey and Mac were not the literary geniuses they thought they were.

The internet acts as a sort of megaphone for opinions and makes it seem like a lot more people care about something than actually do.
EA does a lot of crappy things and deserves a lot of the hate they do get, but the majority of people likely don't pay enough attention to know 3/4 of it or simply don't care.
Some of the studios under them also do release good games which helps in getting the average gamer to keep buying their stuff, but it doesn't negate the awful business practices they've done.
Plus, they created the abomination that is C&C Tiberium Alliances and ensure that one of the greatest RTS series of all time doesn't get a proper reboot.

Because there are too many stupid people mindlessly buying their games and make them tons of money regardless if EA is voted Worst Company in America like 5 years in a row. There's also plenty of competition for that title. Activision-Blizzard, I'm looking at YOU......punks.
Have they changed? You be the judge, or maybe Andromeda will do all the talking.

And here's the Mass Effect-related part:
Damn right it was arrogance. It was like they were saying "even if we give you ****-colored food, you'll still eat it because it came from us".

Ok, got it.
Inquisition had its moments, dawn will come was great the first and second time through. Leaves me with hope they can still bring the emotional involvement that for me makes ME, ME.
Banter was quality when it worked. Which was often for me, not so much others.
Iron bulls romance, BioWare still knows funny.
ME3s multiplayer kept me involved for 3 years. The only other game to do that for me was Homeworld in the 90s.
ME3 itself was a roller coaster ride and minus the ending is one of the better video games I've ever played in terms of keeping me involved as a player.
I don't hold out hope we'll get the long fabled 'Perfect' installment that finally sees the franchise reach its full potential. But there could be some good stuff to come yet.

EA or Bioware? They are still not the same thing, as EA just publish and control the budget. I bet they send a representative from the board from time to time to check out their investment and all that blah blah. EA has had a few bad years, but they seem to have given Bioware alot of freedom, which i think is great and about time.
Bioware made Dragon Age Inquisition and its DLC's which i hold in high regard, and find quite engaging. Also Knights of the fallen Empire expansion for SWTOR was awesome.

People simply voted for EA because A. They believe EA actually cares and B. Non Americans can vote in that poll and BoA is not an international company like EA is.
No video game developer actually deserves that award over ones like Bank of America which have legitimately ruined people's lives. Anybody who thinks so has some really messed up priorities.

I was enjoying those C&C games up until a certain point. I agree with a lot of this they tend to destroy story telling and focus on micro transactions, which Imo I counter to their goal of making money.
Make good games and I wont mind being milked for cash, so long as its worth it. EA doesn't seem to get that. Or Ubisoft and Activision is into ripping off kids these days. So maybe EA isn't all thats wrong with gaming.
