I'd say this guy is a good candidate;

As just about every other biotic is terrible off host.

His Vanguard brother is ok too off host. Even though he likes to engage in staring contests in front of shooting mooks more then biotic charge sometimes.

The best thing about these kits is that you don't even have to shoot. Just smash it up.

Feels good to be playing ME3mp again.

Or you can skip forplay and bring out the big stuff.

Like the Claymoar.

Claymore qualifies as decent, though. And at low level it is piteously low on ammo. My alt's level II Claymore has me racing the Harrier users to the ammo crates.

Melee-spec Krogan? Assuming that is about the best damage bargain you're going to get without any kind of good weapons or upgrades.

Any flamer kit. Even if enemies start teleporting around, or you happen to be 2 seconds behind, the flamer will still hit stuff due to good AOE

Other than that the HA and HE  are solid off host.

Don't assume your Shotgun Omniblade is maxed yet. Mine's still only at level 1. And I only have it to begin with because MGamerz unlocked all my level 1 cards (except for Gear. Don't have all the Gear yet).

My lvl2 Strength Enhancers are still at 0, I think? But with it on my KroLord, I still need some Gear Melee help to backhand shielded mooks.

Yes. Mine's still at lvl2 or 3. But it's biggest weakness is it's killing power. You need to land most shots to the head for a shielded mooks, along with making sure you have better consumables on.

And forget any wallhax or boss double hits unless you use Drill Ammo or higher lvl Armour Ammo. Shotgun HVB and Pierce (along with SMG HVB) have even more pitiful peneration distance at low levels.

Quarian Male Engineer with Grenade Capacity V. Gun or decent connection is not required at all to murderize every defense and do massive damage to both single targets and AOE mobs, and while a Power Amp consumable can increase the level of destruction, it is hardly necessary.

Or Talon Merc with the same, but you said "kit" not "goddamn abomination".

I've heard you say several times that biotics are poor choices for off-host play, but I don't understand why this is so?  Well, apart from vanguards, which become a case of "mash the Biotic Charge button and hope for the best".  But I've had no trouble playing HA, HS, AA, AJA and AHI off-host.  Sure, a host on the other side of the world with horrible latency will likely result in projectile powers missing, but that is also true of non-biotic projectile powers.

What am I not understanding?

Perhaps it is because my play is equally terrible whether or not I'm hosting?

Vanilla human engineer: drones don't care about lag, overload is hitscan, and incinerate will usually hit your target no matter how bad the lag is (although its trajectory and time-of-impact might be really weird).  You don't even need a gun, really, since you can take out any kind of defense with tech combos and fire explosions.

For me it's the human adept since I started playing ME3 MP and able to dominate gold with it and a tempest and only limited to 2 medi gels, cobras, TCPs and op packs.

It's not an alt.

Or maybe learning from a friend who has retired from this game telling me how to play ME3 MP is too crutch.

The Human Adept (vanilla) and Human Engineer (also vanilla) are probably the easiest classes because they are even good with crap weapons and everyone has them upon starting a manifest. I would consider the AIU to be okay with even a Katana or Scimitar, if one is good with headshots, because of the buff.

The  Batarian Adept and Batarian Soldier  are also very good without good weapons, and are even better without them (ymmv/depending on one's playing style) due to low cooldown benefits.

Only...any Batarian is better when you add Raider! :D
