Dear Bioware,

Please don't show us a superb game or should I say EPIC game at E3 and other cons, and then give us a lame game, like you did with DA:I. I know there are different teams, but please don't be like that team. You guys know that meme? "Dragon Age team showed us a beautiful game. Dragon Age team delivered us a lame game. Don't be like Dragon Age team!" Just take your time, don't build up any hype, if you have to delay the game, please delay it. I know all of the fanboys will hate me for saying this, but I'm a fan too, and that's why I'm saying this because I want my favorite developer to deliver an EPIC game. Mass Effect is and will be my favorite game, always! Thank you for your patience and keep up the good work!

It's not really a situation they can win.

Show people awesome stuff at events like E3 and people will complain that you cut some of that content, despite the fact that every game ever has content which was cut.

Don't show people stuff until you're 100% certain it is ready and awesome, and people complain that you're being quiet and not talking about the game enough.

I don't want another Watch_Dogs. E3 a few years ago, the game looked awesome... They kept showing off the game more and more, and as time went by and the release date neared... It was overhyped, underwhelming, and a completely different game than what was shown.

I hope BioWare can learn from CDPROJEKTRED and Bethesda, and other game studios. Don't show off too much too early. Don't reveal too much too soon.  E3 2016 will be a great platform to showcase some gameplay. A quite overview of the game (what is it about, enemy, character, squadmates).

And if they do a demo, let it be for beta testing multiplayer!

Aside from things that were in content that were clearly labeled as "Pre-Alpha content" that was never officially released by BioWare from Gamescon don't remember the game being that different from anything they showed us and since it was labeled as such I never put any stock into what I was being shown.

Besides there are always people wanting the exact opposite of what is being asked for here, they want to know everything about the game now.

I don't think it was a lame game.  I quite enjoyed it.  It was my favorite game in 2014.

That being said, it's the unfortunate nature of the way the games industry works.  They weren't being intentionally deceptive, but thinks change and limitations arise when you get further along in development.  It certainly wasn't as if they pulled an Aliens: Colonial Marines on us. That's why they are quick to tell you that this is alpha footage, as to temper your expectations of the final product.

So while I agree that developers and publishers need to be careful when they show early builds and vertical slices, I also think gamers need to learn to be more level headed when they are shown footage of a game that is a ways out.

BioWare can learn from CDPROJEKTRED

Well, The Wicher a lot of flak because of the graphical downgrades. And their first gameplay trailer was way before the game is released. We had seen more of The Witcher 3 one year before the game was released than we do Andromeda right now.

Anyway, I expect Andromeda to have a marketing similar to Inquisition. I expect something sooner, but the most of it will happen after E3 and by the time the game is released many people will be saying they showed to much of it.

Also, it's the nature of game development that games change during it. Just go and see the first gameplay trailer for Mass Effect, it looked like another game entirely. And it's easy to think this other game could have been better because we never get to play it, and then we can just project what we think the game would actually be.

They were showing off gameplay for dragon age inquisition at least a year before it was released.  So far, we haven't seen any gameplay for Mass Effect:Andromeda.  So at this rate, it looks like they're going to only show footage as we get closer to release.

Possible they are holding off because the original gameplay from DAI was actually leaked from an early alpha build and people were just taking a dump on Bioware for just about everything.

Same here although I didn't really get into it till 2015 as I was busy with other things at the time but yeah lately DAI has become one of my favourite games

Yeah I think that's the plan right now too. At the various games exhibitions this year like at E3 gamescom shows like that is w2hen they'll start showcasing it I think ready for it's release.

Bullseye!

And not just Bioware either.  It's been a trend in the last few years for people to dig up old footage of vertical slices and launch a shame campaign.  Justifiable in some cases, but it's gotten a lot of attention.

I think the different responses between games has really shown how much the community has changed over the years.  I can complete Mass Effect 1 in under 3 hours, but Dragon Age: Inquisition is too short when it takes 10 to 15.  Or there is the Mass Effect 1 choices trailer where you abandon Noveria and that is okay, but Dragon Age; Inquisition was a bait and switch because of the Gamescon closed door demo and was labeled as in development.

There are more areas where the community has reacted so differently in the time frame between those games and are very quick to blame everything they don't like on EA even if BioWare was doing similar things before EA was in the picture.

I doubt Bioware would downgrade MEA in any way, last gen consoles are now dead for them, and hopefully, nothing gets leaked before E3.

It happened with DAI, in a private conference, and look how it turned out.
