Qunari Mage makes the playthrough very interesting. For lore, Elf romancing Solas is pretty touching.

Cass can romance a Qunari?  Well I didn't know that.  Presumed she'd be all racist like Cullen, that sounds like a pretty cool match tbh.  And seeing how I don't like the English guy voice from Downton Abbey it would let me be Zevran's VA instead.  hmmmm....

Yes I have done them all. My personal favorites are Qunari Male Mage/Cassandra (love the first date scene), Elven Female Mage/Cullen (a lot of unique dialog there), Qunari Male/Iron Bull (rough and tumble and fun and the lock the romance scene with two Qunari men is priceless.) and, Elven Male Mage/Dorian (Dorian prefers buff men so, comes off as about the personality, not the body which is cool.)

Cullen and Solas are the only potential LIs with racial requirements.

 

Cullen is human and elf only, Solas is elf only.

 

My own recommendations:

 

+1 for a Morrigan who did the Dark Ritual.  IT's not my favorite DAO outcome, but the Kieran scenes work really well in DAI

 

In a qunari playthrough, take the Qunari option when first meeting Iron Bull.  You greet him in Qunlat and he tells you not to do that as "it makes the boys nervous"

 

Actually, in a qunari playthrough, just read all the letters to you from your old mercenary commander, they're pretty hilarious!

 

If romancing Josephine:  take the Underworld knowledge perk and do the war table mission it offers.  When the duel happens, take the knowledge option to taunt the guy.
