Hi,

putting this just for fun. I decide to get all DLC i missed and replay whole ME from the very beginning since I'm sick a little so I was staying in bed anyway. So why the hell not? So... few years back:

- i liked ME 1 and got on this train (fell in love after I had to pick one character to live

- i was thinking that ME 2 was pointless from story point of view (filler chapter) but enjoyable because characters and ending

- and I was thinking that ME 3 failed hard in terms of story, gameplay (waves of enemies) etc and got us worst ending to trilogy ever...

Now in 2016, with more games behind me (like Wicher trilogy for example, Divinity, Dragon Age and few other games) I see ME in a little different perspective.

- I still like ME 1 but I now see how clunky controls were. I still think that moment you choose one character to die is one of the best in gaming and at the level of "I'm your father Luke" :-) So at least I understand why ME 2 and 3 were trying to be full blown shooters so much.

- But I still don't understand why you do everything with ONE BUTTON in later games. It pisses me off even now :-) Died few times because I jumped over cover instead hiding behind it.

- I had fun comparing games against "Bioware cliche chart". Guys, your new game (Inquisition) also match so - please try something new next time. But don't get lazy like with Dragon Age 2. It was bold idea that I liked but with very bad execution.

- ME 3 is MUCH BETTER when you have additional DLC. Also what I noticed - you did learn few things before doing "Shore leave". I enjoyed that DLC a LOT. You should really make characters more natural, with more humor in your games. And have some perspective. By the way, Shore leave ending was much better than trilogy ending :P

- Additional ending in ME 3 - I still think it's a bug "f**k you" to all those who were disappointed with Instagram filters endings. Remember - we mad because we care.

- Also, drop whole paragon/renegade, good/bad/funny etc system. It DOES NOT WORK. And make you look bad and childish next to games like Witcher where you just pick what you think is right and live with the consequences now knowing what may happen. I'm saying that and comparing you two because CDPR was influenced a lot by you (CDP was distributor of Bioware games in Poland, they used modified version of your engine in their first Witcher and there are Bioware fans in that company) and I think now you should take something from them.

Now I think that you were lacking resources and time with ME 3. This is why it is the worst one. Ending does not compare (not even close) to ME 2 or Shore Leave DLC (yep, that fun DLC you did had much better ending than trilogy had). Strong part was in the middle. You had character that could live and die. Choices that carry from ME 2 (we have much more options that we were thinking). Characters that were replacing ones that died etc. So I think that one eat up your resources and your rushed at the end. Or I hope you did.

Still... with ALL DLC I think trilogy is worth playing. Even now. Graphic holds now in 2016 since next console generation is a joke. Game is long, characters are great. If you can tolerate naive narration (naive good / ruthless bad with no middle ground) that Bioware always had, you don't mind cliche chart and bad ending to trilogy - it won't be disappointing.

BECAUSE IN MASS EFFECT DESTINATION IS NOT THAT GREAT BUT THE JOURNEY IS ONE OF THE BEST!

Renegade and Paragon is, indeed, an imperfect system, but it was never about being good or evil. ME3 did good by not making Renegade and Paragon levels determine special decisions like the previous two games. It was not fun to play the super nice guy or the super mean "a" hole. On PC, I just max my Paragon out and then play through the game making decisions I want to make without worrying about my alignment.

Mass Effect 3, with all of the DLCs, is more of a compelling story than the 1 & 2 which is probably why I've sunk more hours into 3 more than 1 and 2. Of course, Leviathan is probably the only DLC actually worth having for a person who loves the lore of the series. To be honest, Citadel DLC is pretty much garbage when it comes to how relevant it is. Trespasser DLC for DA: Inquisition should have been what Citadel DLC should have been for Mass Effect 3. As for Omega DLC, Omega's original plot was actually a lot more interesting than what we actually got, because Omega was originally part of the original game. You actually had to travel back through the Omega 4 Relay at some point.

I forgot to say that english is not my primary language so sorry for any typos and mistakes. ME dialogue system imperfection is not about the stats itself. More about obvious picks. Top - good, bottom - bad, probably more information (ME) or cracking bad jokes (DA). And they add more to it. Not only placing them in same spot, adding colors but even icons and stuff. They are trying to evolving it while it should be scrapped.

I hope that with Andromeda they will go more in Witcher direction. With options that give you some middle ground and make them less obvious. Having to define character, not stats.

I agree that ME 3 had nice DLC. I especially love part when you run with EVERYONE. While playing it now (I bought in just now, didn't play it at first because I never picked up ME 3 again because how lazy vanilla game was) I was thinking - hell, this should be in original game. This is how ending should look like. All your people helping you to the end!.
