It just wouldn't make sense from a marketing perspective though, there haven't been any ads for it so far, I mean don't get me wrong its early yet in the year but...

If we don't see any ads for the game by say...the end of summer, I think any release this year is doubtful.

...it's the first week of January. Get it together, dude.

They said they started working on the game immediately after ME3 was released. You would think that 4 years would be enough to create a good game. But who am I to know what goes on in the offices of BioWare and EA...

No they didn't. The team making MEA was working on ME3 DLC for quite some time after ME3 was released. They may have been brainstorming right after ME3 was released, but they weren't developing MEA until much later.

Famous last words.

Not mine. A dude who use to work for BioWare said those words and I agreed to that saying he made.

Bioware has a ... uhm, let's say certain history with delaying stuff. To be honest, the release date is already Q1 2017 in my head.
EA wants the $£¥€, true, but they don't want the bad PR aswell - esp. with Bioware.

I don't think EA give much of a damn about PR nowadays. Even if they did everything right, a billion people would still find fault with them.

A delay is likely, but not inevitable, ME2 and ME3 were both developed in a relatively small timeframe of just over two years. and the quality sufferd for it. With EA pulling the strings there's no telling what will happen or where priorities will be put, though ME3 in particular is a good example of what will happen in such a scenario.

Not sure about ME2, but ME3 did in fact get pushed back. It was originally supposed to come out late 2011.

Given the lack of information about a game supposedly now less than a year from release, rumors about the sacking of a lead writer, and Bioware's track record of not making release dates....2017 is a safe bet.

March 2017, 5 years after the release of Mass Effect 3. My prediction.

I expect ME:A to be delayed into Spring 2017, with a launch date in or around Q1 of that year.

I don't care either way. As long as it's a good quality game, that's fine.

This is not a prediction, this is a baseless guess

It might be a guess, but it isn't baseless.

Bioware almost never makes a projected release date. Combine that with rumors of a lead writer either quitting or being fired mid-development, and the lack of information about a game that is now supposedly less than a year from release.

None of those things exactly inspire confidence in Bioware making a Holiday 2016 release date.

1. EA/Bioware in this to make money. Check. Got it.

2. EA/Bioware therefore have deadlines and due dates. Check. Got it.

3. Fans have high expectations for new iterations of their favorite games. Check. Got it.

4. Fans want the new game sooner rather than later. Check. Got it.

Fans get mad when 3 and/or 4 aren't met, there is a backlash, Wall Street notices, #1 goes into the dumper.

Google "EA stock price and ME3 backlash", or

http://www.ibtimes.c...ice-drop-433306

Me hopes the lesson has been learned in the corner offices, and that a magnificent product will be delivered, on time.

I don't really take that as pessimistic.

'ME:A canceled' would be pessimistic.

I won't be surprised if it is delayed, we're in 2016 and we still don't know a whole lot about the game.

It might be a guess, but it isn't baseless.

It is. We don't know anything about what is going on with Andromeda development, people just project a situation out of some news. And the lack of info about the game? Again, no grounds to say the game will be delayed because there is no rule as to how a game should be market. People think we ought to know more about MEA by now because they can, but that is absolutely no grounds to say the game will be delayed.

It boils down to: Andromeda might be delayed because other games were delayed. Simple as that. And indeed, it can be delayed. Or it may not.

I'd call it pragmatism.
Somewhere in 2017 sounds about right. Maybe in this E3 we'll get a release date. Maybe. Or maybe we'll get yet another 1.30 mins trailer (you can never have enough of those).

I'm fine as long as they use that extra time in a usefull and productive fashion.

But that's not true at all. We know that there's something going on with the head writer and can logically assume he is no longer the head writer. That's important.

But BioWare games are always delayed. We have empirical evidence to support that. It's not some random thought people are pulling out of their asses.

I wouldn't call it pessimism exactly. More time would be good. They ran out of the time the last game.. and I'm still annoyed.

A tangent to the saying "Don't let the Perfect be the enemy of the Good" applies here -

"Buggy Mediocre is the enemy of all." (Looks squarely at ME3)

I'm predicting a major earthquake will delay production by 3 years, resulting in a Duke Nukem type scenario; where the game is passed around, scrapped, restarted and ultimately takes place in an entirely different galaxy to Andromeda.

Shepard will be resurrected.

Destroy (Lazarused)

Synthesis ( Shepards essence is stored in the Normandy replacing EDI)

Control (Commander Shepard will be uploaded to the Geth)

Life as a renegade talking toaster oven will be hard in not Andromeda and there will be many challenges ahead. Like figuring out why the toaster goes all the way up to 6 when 3 enough to burn a crumpet. Personally I blame Mac Walters for that, because somebody has to.

The game will finally ship as an XBone exclusive in 2019 available only by digital download in countries outside of India and The United Arab Emirates. Deluxe Platinum Pre Orders will come with a special edition phalanx 1 for the MP and a biotic barrier for adepts that only works against sync kills.

The game will sell 6 million copies in its first week and then trail off because we all hate the ending.

Jos will change his name to Henry and take over the world.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Mass Effect 2 wasn't delayed. And I don't remember if ME1 was.

And I do agree I'd say it's a valid opinion that MEA might be delayed. Exactly as valid as saying it will not.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least...and I'm all for it if it results in better gaming experience.  Still, it's too early to speculate.  We should have a better idea in a couple more months.

Both were delayed. ME1 was delayed by a year iirc.

But that's simply untrue. Demonstrably so.
