I found this tutorial on re-skinning an existing creature. I also read some of Frank Perez's tutorial series

The first tutorial seems close to what I want to do, but I do not want to "reskin" an existing creature; I don't want the existing creatures changed.

What I want to do is copy an existing creature, and reskin that.

To do that, do I need any new models? Or is it sufficient to copy an existing model, and then edit the appearances.2DA to apply some new skins to it?

Trying to wrap my head around this process to figure out what I need to do.

Thanks all.

You don't even need an appearance 2da edit.

Get MDB Cloner. (http://neverwinterva...tool/mdb-cloner).

Clone your model and in MDB cloner tell it to apply the new textures you'd like. There's a naming convention to follow, with the suffix incrementing 01, 02 etc.

Basically you're done. The new variants will show up as cloth model options (or options for whichever armor the base has, some trolls come pre-armored for instance).

My reskinned trolls can be used as an example: http://neverwinterva...s-troll-reskins

Reskinning is pretty basic, you shouldn't have much trouble figuring it out.
